Description: Welcome to the Midwest's only heads-up, index based, traveling drag racing series. We are known as the "Racer's Series" because we have something for everyone. Come check out the main site at www.imsmracingseries.com What is the IMSM Racing Series? IMSM (Illinois “Midwest” Street Machines) was formed on the local tracks of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa back in 2001 after two brothers and a group of friends decided there should be a program for all makes and models to compete in. Not wanting to separate considering all of us had a different weapon of choice, we decided there needed to be some kind of venue in which the everyday racer could compete with the hardcore sportsman racer on the same level. Not wanting to become yet another bracket racing program, the staff at the IMSM Racing Series decided to try their hands at class racing. With a different set of rules and regulations to govern all makes and models (foreign and domestic) the officials of the IMSM Series learned the hard way that rules and regulations were not the way to go. Enter in the age of heads-up “Index” drag racing. With the addition of a pro .400 tree and a sportsman ladder with the severe lack of rules and regulations the series became open to all forms of drag racing enthusiasts while still offering heads-up, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping and wheel standing action. Fast-forward to the 2008 season and you have a successful, fully operational program that draws in racers spectators from all walks of life. One thing we take pride in the series is that it was built by racers for racers and maintained by racers. We are best known as “The people that let you race”. Over the years we have taken in many “thanks” from all kinds of racers for giving them a new hope in the world of drag racing. Everyone seems to be tired of the bracket racing scene and wants to see some new life in this exciting sport. We have a lot of pride in saying we gave back the sport of drag racing to the weekend warriors so every event we leave the fans, racer and sponsors with a smile on their face. Where do we race? Starting in 2007 we took the series on the road traveling from the Mississippi basin in Cordova, Illinois to the rolling corn fields of lower Wisconsin and back down to Indiana. Moving into the 2008 season the series decided to tighten up a little to potentially increase the car counts and stayed within Illinois and Wisconsin at three different tracks. Our first stop on the 2008 trip was at Byron dragway located in Byron, Illinois. (www.byrondragway.com) Then we moved up to Wisconsin to race at the legendary Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin. (www.greatlakesdragaway.com) After a few trips we headed back west to Cordova, Illinois along the Mississippi river for the “High Voltage Nationals”. (www.cordovadrag.com) Ending our official 2008 season we found our way back to Union Grove, WI for the 2008 finals where there were over 85 racers in attendance fighting for their spot for the championship or for the top ten of 2008. After an intense eight race schedule in 2008 IMSM went back to Byron Dragway for a ninth race where we let it all hang loose. Lifting the cap for race nine originally intended to be a fun race for the racers of the series. What it turned into was one of the most heart pounding races we have seen this season with the heavy hitters from each class strutting their stuff showing everyone else they are the top dog in 2008. Yet again this would not end our season as members from the IMSM Series were invited to attend a quick eight program at Byron Dragways annual “World Wheel Standing Competition”. In all spanning nearly three states and drawing in racers from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota the IMSM series lives up to it’s name of the being the Midwest’s premier heads-up program. Classes of the series The IMSM Racing Series is comprised of seven different classes and split into two divisions, the Street Division and the Pro Division. Our Street Division opens up a wide spectrum of street cars and street/strip cars. Our Pro Division embodies our four fastest heads-up classes and brings out the wheel standing, high horsepower monsters everyone loves and comes to see. Street Brawler - 13.50 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Street Intimidator - 12.50 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Street Heat - 11.60 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Pro Avenger - 10.50 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Pro Dominator - 9.50 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Pro X-Treme - 8.60 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder Pro Outlaw - 7.80 Heads-up, Pro .400 tree, Sportsman Ladder

The primary objective of HDRA is simple, we wanted to create a series in which all racers of every make and model can be treated equal and participate in a competitive environment on friendly budget. In this time of great financial turmoil, it saddens us to see racers not be able to race because they can no longer afford the travel expenses of larger series, or cannot afford the increased membership fees of other series that are struggling to make it. We willingly open our doors to members of the drag racing and Street racing communities to come and race with us if their looking for a little extra action at the track in addition to their other racing programs, or if they are looking for somewhere to race without breaking the bank. Our events are designed around all levels of racing enthusiasts. Our ultimate goal is to establish a standard and mark our place in the racing community that welcomes everyone to come and participate in our motorsports events without a huge cost to them. To support these ideas HDRA has established 4 main racing classes to accommodate racers of all levels. While designing the classing system special attention was made to make sure all racers could participate in a level they could be competitive in and allow them to advance to the next class relatively easy as their cars became faster. Our Street Muscle class is a Open Comp format style racing class that offers a place for all cars running 11.99-17.99, this class is ran on a NHRA Sportsman Ladder with a .500 Tree, Handicap Start, and a 1/10th Breakout. The Street Muscle class offers the armature racer, racer with a stock car, or the weekend warrior the ability to start out in an Open Comp class, while others with faster cars and more experience, that want to, have the ability to compete in any of the 3 heads-up classes The other 3 classes are Heads-up Style Index classes, • Modified Muscle is the next step up from Street Muscle and is a 11.6 Index class, • Pro Muscle come next and features a 10.2 Index, for the pro racers out there we offer • Ultimate Muscle, which is an 8.5 Index Class. Using this formula for class designation members of HDRA no longer have to worry about conforming to strict class rules that may exclude them for the smallest items, nor due they have to worry about losing out to drivers with faster cars and larger budgets. Our goal is to match up the drivers in the class that best fits their cars and their abilities on the track, with an entry fee they can afford. The 2009 season of HDRA is scheduled to run 4 events at Byron Dragway, with a potential for 2 dates to be announced for Cordova Dragway. For up to date information on the HDRA racing series, race dates, class structure, or to just stop in and give your input, please visit our website at: http://www.hdraracingseries.com/ We look forward to meeting you!!!
