The plan

I have been doing a lot of thinking on this car lately. I am going all out on this car. I've wanted one of these for a long time, now I have it and I'm not cutting any corners or making any comprimises.

I'm going to use cues from several car. It will be a Pro-touring / Vintage Trans-Am series styled car. There's a lot of cues I'll borrow from the Detriot Speed car that they built for Dale Jr. and as well as the "Bad Penny" Camaro. Both these cars are very well done. The Bad Penny car is slightly more my taste, not quite as overdone.

I have a lot of custom fabricating ahead of me.

Some of the parts I have decided on are:

Year One custom engine turn dash insert (holds aftermarket size gauges)
Stewart Warner Power Gauges
Hotchkis TVS suspension kit
Vintage Wheel Works V48 in 17x8 and 17x9 (don't like the rubber band tire look)
BRP 4th gen rear brake brackets, and 4th gen rear discs
C5 Z06 front brakes
VFN Fiberglass nose (for weight savings)

Some things I'll have to build are:
Back seat delete (much like the one in Dale Jr.'s car) it will have to be fiberglass
Custom switch panel in place of radio
Custom engine start button
Custom console

Factory Options:

Firebird Esprit, probably a 2bbl 350, but all that is long gone.

Exterior Modifications:

Trans-Am fenders with side air extractors, Factory fiberglass Ram Air formula hood.

Interior Modifications:

8pt. Roll cage, Trans-am dash w/ full gauges.

Performance:

I have a '98 Ram Air LS1 for this car. 320hp stock. Headers and more to come

Suspension/Chassis:

rear sway bar

Drivetrain:

T-56 Tremec 6 spd.

Electronics:

Modded computer to eleminate VATS and skipshift

To-Do List:

Everything.

Actually the stats were from when it was a stock LS1/4L60E. Took it to the track last week, zero traction and clutch issues, but I got a 13.2@111 out of it. Get that motor in there, you'll be glad you did!
