I traded my 96 Z28 and cash to upgrade into the LS1 f-body to a guy in Ada OK in 2004. When I got it, it had 11,000 miles. This was an original dealer installed "Last of the Breed" (LOTB) package new. At the time, the T/A had a decent amount of mods. Performance-wise, the previous owner had enhanced it with a nitrous 100 shot wet (NX MAF system), S2 trottlebody, Borla cat-back exhaust complete with an electric cutout and removed cats, 160° stat, and a Pro 5.0 shifter. For handling, it had a STB, and SLP linelock. There was not much in the appearance department except for some 17 X 9 silver Z06 replica wheels (which I was not real crazy about from the beginning), clear side markers, embroidered floor mats, and a red shift boot (another thing I do not like). But it was an awesome base to start out with.
I went through a couple bottles of the happy gas before I decided it really wasn't for me. I liked the power, but I just didn't like the fact it wasn't always there and I'd have to keep refilling the bottle. So I sold the kit. I longed for a supercharger as I missed the one I once had on my old Z28.
Initial track results yielded a respectable 12.62 @ 110 (N/A)with the bolt ons the previous owner had installed. This was on BFG drag radials. It also made 344 RWHP & 362RWTQ at that time (N/A).
