This is a '65 Chevy Corvair Corsa. The first year of the second gen. Corvairs. This particular car has (now) a 110 flat six motor with .60 over pistons and a 280 cam. I'm working on carbs now along with a Crane XR700 ignition. Dual exhaust with mini turbo mufflers. 4 speed with 3.27 gears. It's a runner on the freeway. I'm just trying to wrap up a "freshin' up" of the car and hope to be cruisin' it very soon. Not a bad transformation for a 1 yr project.

New ring job on the 110 motor in the car. Swapping on the 4 carb 140 heads and a single 4 bbl carb. I hope to have it back on the road by the end of the month, but I'd better get moving.
It should be a nice looking fun car once again.
This particular model comes with the gauge package dash. Mine also has factory tinted windows, day/night mirror, deluxe seat belt package, comfort & convienence group, 2 speed wipers, etc.
I've added the '69 Camaro front spoiler, the Yenko Stinger rear spoiler kit and shaved off all the standard emblems. New rechrome bumpers, head lamps, door handles. This car will sparkle once the car is back on the ground, the new windshield installed and the thing washed & waxed for the first time since the new paint hit the sheetmetal.
The interior is mainly stock looking. New carpeting, the seats & trim were all dyed a new Palomino tan color, and just a few little things here & there. All new paint and details to the stock surroundings. It also has a quick shift kit on an already short throw shifter. Shift length is about 3" from gear to gear. Very tight. * Just added a new Grant GT wheel. Looking sharp now.
The stock 140 motor is gone. The prior owner did something with it. So this HP 110 motor has .60 over pistons, either an Otto 20 or a 280 cam & lifters were added. New dual mini turbo muffler exhaust system. Crane XR700 electronic timing, MSD high output coil, 8 mm plug wires, dual single K & N filters (2 carbs). At this time, that is about it. I will be adding 140 heads & distrib. along with a single 500cfm 4 bbl carb.
The front end has been lowered 2 coils and the rear has been lowered 1.5 coils. It's approx. 2.5"-3" up front and 1.5"-2" in the rear. All new Gabrial gas shocks on all 4 corners. New poly bushings to come along with a quick steering box that I am rebuilding. It handles extremely well for what it is.
Currently it has a non Corsa 3.27 rear end (non posi) and a '66-'69 Saginaw HD 4 speed. with a quick shift kit installed. I already have another rebuilt '66 Saginaw HD 4 spd for it and I am currently looking for the stock 3.55 posi rear end for the car.
This car currently has a very clean, stock AM radio in it. (if your married and your wife has any say about your car .... you will understand)
I will be building a custom center console to install a new AM-FM-CD player along with a 250 wt amp and a 4 speaker system. I have 2 Kenwood 3-way 200 wt speakers in boxes in the rear and a set of Alpine component speakers (maybe for the front). It will all depend on if I complete this car or find another one to re-do on a crazier note.
I need to swap out all the bushings front & rear with the poly bushings for superior handling. Still waiting to rebuild a standard 140 motor that comes in this particular model. Tinting all the windows in the car. And at this point locating some good molding trim pieces. After that ... just DRIVE IT !!!!!!!! Oh, and I have a telescopic column for it. I'll have to decide if I want to go through the hastle of swaping it out.
* Just picked up a nice 140 motor. Winter project. Should be a real good runner when I'm done with it.
