Metallica- Master of puppets
I bought this quad off ebay for $1950.00 about two years ago from a guy in California. I rode it up and down the street a few times and out on the dirt once before i realized it was a death trap. I tried to sell it locally for under $2,000.00 but everyone who looked at it didnt even have the balls to ride it. Since i couldnt sell it i decided to rebuild it myself and make it a safe, fast, and reliable quad. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding so check back for updates and pics of the progress.

Just an update.. I have posted alot of pics of the frame fabrication. The frame is 80% finished, I just lack a few more gussets and motor mounts. I cut the bottom frame rails to get the motor in position. I came up with what i tought was a pretty trick and easy way to drop the motor if ever needed. I made a solid steel slug that fits perfectly inside the bottom frame rails (see pics in Rebuild II album). I drilled four holes through the unwelded piece of the frame with the slug inside to match up the holes perfectly. Then i welded up the whole frame, top and bottom. Next I cut the bottom frame rails between the 4 bolt holes i had drilled. Since the bottom frame rails are bolted to the foot pegs and the front is welded to the chopped stock 4wheeler frame it can now be totally removed to drop the motor and remain solid and strong(wont fall in half) haha. I know it sounds confusing, but the pictures explain it better lol.
Now its time to build motor mounts and lots of mounting brackets. No more zip ties holding shit on.. everything will have a bracket to be bolted up to for a nice clean look. I still need to find or build some kind of fuel cell... i have no idea where to look for that.
Over all, so far so good. I just dont have much time to work on this thing because of work and school

The fabrication has begun! My dad and i dropped the motor today and checked everything over. I've decided to extend the fame 3 1/2 inches to fit the new radiator and have enough room to reach everything. I wont be using any of the old motor mounts or engine cradle. We are going to do this right and go back with all new stuff.

During some dissassembly I found out the thermostat was stuck open so i went looking for one. The 2000 model thermostat housing was different from mine, WTF?? This meant i didnt have a 2000 model motor!?!
I got the engine number and called my local Suzuki dealer... After some research i was informed that the number matched up to a 1998-99 bike. So this started a whole new parts seach. The same day i found a guy who has a carburated 99 gsxr 750 he is parting out. Talk about luck! I needed several parts like a radiator, speed sensor, exhaust, and a few other small parts to get this motor running like it should. I talked to the guy and he has all the parts i needed and is asking very fair prices for them so i am very excited!!!
If all checks out good i will be getting his speed sensor to get the tach and speedo to work, His Yoshimura exhaust with header, and radiator (with fan, sensors, all hoses, overflow container, thermostat and housings)
Once i get all these parts i can finish the fabrication on the frame, brackets, and motor mounts. Once everything is hooked up amd mounted perfect i will take the motor to the Suzuki dealer to get it all checked out have the valves adjusted and whatever else it needs. hopefully there wont be any serious problems with the motor.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! i cant wait to get this thing running!!
