About this Current Vehicle:

I requested fquick add "coupe models" to the Willys model selections.

Willys "Americar".
A true 1960's west coast gasser (A/Gas). Real steel body. My plan is to restore this historic gasser in order to run NHRA Nostalgia A/Gas.

This should be one interesting project / restoration.

Engine of Choice

I'm building a Ford 427 Cammer motor. I got a great deal on a fresh block & heads originally from Dove Engineering. Dove is known for their extensive aftermarket work on these Ford racing engines. More photo's and updates as my project progresses. For the record, this Cammer will be blown to run A/Gas Nostaliga.

Factory Options:

Original headliner.

Exterior Modifications:

Real steel coupe body, in primer with no rust. Aluminum floor and recessed firewall.

Interior Modifications:

Never tubbed. Rear wheel wells are un-cut, and has 4 point roll bar. Still has the parachute release handle & cable inside. Rear windows are blue lexan, front window is clear lexan.

Updates are to tub the rear, and add a pro cage. New lexan will also be in order.

Performance:

C--------- I'm gonna need a 'chute.

Suspension/Chassis:

Never raced with, or setup for front brakes. Chromed dropped front axle. Chromed 1957 Olds rear w/ 5.13 spool & summers bros. axles. Chromed ladder bars and complete chromed rear suspension including chrome wheelie bars.

The plan is to update to meet NHRA safety rules for A/Gas Nostalgia. I also have a Ford 9" rearend to swap in. Most likely will run a 5.13 gear. Front & rear brakes will be updated, as will the suspension.

Drivetrain:

Building a blown 427 "Cammer" SOHC.

Trans will most likely be a 'glide or maybe a manual with direct drive.

Electronics:

All new wiring (harness') for a drag car is in the works.

To-Do List:

N/A
