I absolutely love the Ultima GTR. I have never ridden in a car and felt the G-forces like in one of these. They are an incredible roadcar that are capable of tearing up the track too. Best part is you can order the body in Orange too!! Yes!!!! I have been involved with the US Ultima group for 2 years now and attending the US gatherings to see and learn about the cars up close. The guys are all great and definitely have a passion for the car. I also read all of the build sites I can find so I know what to expect when my time comes. Also allows me to plan for what I will be changing on mine. Ha ha.
Factory frame, aluminum panels, gelcoat body, windows, and most of the suspension and upgraded AP Racing brakes would probably be ordered. I would probably opt for the seats too unless I find a set I really like. The factory designed this car to be well built and bolt together. But there is always room for improvement if you look hard enough. Ha ha.
It will have some custom wheels. While the OZ racing wheels they come with are cool, I am not a fan of the stepped lip. I would rather have an 18" wheel with no lip and a nice dish to it. Looks more aggressive.
There will be plenty here. Once again when I do build this, the goal will be to make it useable on a daily basis if I wanted to. I will probably use a custom steering column with tilt and wiper controls and headlight controls on the stalks. This would free up some dash space and mean less knobs and switches to clutter that up. I would also plan to use sound deadening as many of the recent builds have included to make the cockpit more liveable while driving. It can get noisy with an engine just behind your head. And I would add a dead pedal as some of the builds have done recently. Just need to box out the aluminum panel on that side of the car for the extra clearance.
I am currently planning on a LS2 engine or equivalent. It will depend upon what is available when I can afford to order the kit to build this car. 400 hp is more than enough for a 2100lb car. And there are plenty of power upgrades should I decide more power is necessary. There is always the twin turbo option like Jeff Schwartz did on his GTR. Ha ha.
Factory suspension works quite well. I will most likely use the upgraded half shafts that Jeff Schwartz sourced for his GTR as the factory components can shear under enough power.
It will be a 6-speed cable shifted Porsche gearbox. Or something equivalent. Again it will depend on what is available when I can afford this kit. The Porsche gearboxes are getting harder to come by these days.
It will have a custom stereo system. There is not a lot of spare room on these cars so it will be thought through during the build. I have lots of ideas from reading other Ultima build sites. I would also like to figure out how to set up some sort of security system that would disable the car in the event it is tampered with.

Yeah I agree. Naturally aspirated is more than enough on these cars. But the TT is handy for the 0-200-0 record which Jeff Schwartz holds! Ha ha. I rode in his car when it was just a LS6 pushing 550hp. I can't imagine the TT LS2!!
Gorgeous car...GORGEOUS COLOR....
I would kill for this exact car. However I would not twin turbo it, pointless for road racing, WAY too much power, and heating issues I'd assume. Anyways good choice in cars man!
