This is a basket case car that was rusting away in West Palm when I bought it. I had to replace the spare tire well & found it had a blown head gasket to boot. I performed an automatic to manual swap with the Tremec and installed a 3rd Gen Chevy V8 (iron block LM7 5.3L) using fabricated parts. I used a wrecked 1991 Supra as a parts car in this swap.

One of the bugs that had been troubling me was a high pitched squeal after the car warmed up. It sounded like a belt, but it always continued a few seconds after the motor was off. I checked vacuum lines, and started pulling them one at a time while it was making the noise. The culprit was a kinked PCV line and restrictive breather orifice on the driver side. I re-routed the line and enlarged the orifice a couple of sizes and the noise has gone away.

I found the car ran well, but it was a little rough. The SES lamp was on and it was indicating a misfire code. Upon inspection I found I had unplugged one of the injectors while working on the fuel pressure regulator. Put the connector back on, cleared the codes, & now it is running on all 8 with no SES lamp! Makes a big difference.

I now have 7 to 8 coats of paint on the car, and it looks 100% better. It is not a show quality job, but certainly good enough for my needs, especially considering the cost was under $75!
I still have a few spots to finish up like the front emblem, some overroll (can't call it overspray), and the lettering on the rear trim molding.
While I was doing this, I replaced the targa seals (messy & time consuming) and the rear hatch seal (easy). The car seals a lot better now.
After that, with a some more work to the inside (replacing the stereo & some trim parts) it should be ready to roll.
