About this Previous Vehicle:

Having problems, More problems I should say. Blown turbo and motor. Subaru 's Extended Warranty is a crock of shit. Because I changed my own oil they are trying to get out of covering the repairs. I can do a complete brake job on the car (and that's okay with them) but if my change my own oil, well that's a whole other matter.

Blown Turbo and Motor.

A word of warning to anyone who owns a Suby, or to anyone thinking of buying one. When I first bought the car it was still under warranty. I purchased the extended warranty from a Subaru dealership, just for in case. After having the car for less than two weeks, the CEL came on. I took it in, and they could not figure out what was wrong. Long story short, it has been in for repairs 8 times in 2 years, mostly for at least 2 weeks, and one being for 29 days. Now I have a blown turbo and motor due to a "Lack Of Maintenance". I changed the oil in the car (Full Synthetic per the owners manual) before the next scheduled oil change while I was doing a brake job. So that being said all I can find is the credit card statement showing where I made a purchase for over $60 at an auto parts store. But that isn't good enough. As much as I love the car, I will not purchase another Subaru new, or even slightly used. When I do purchase another one, I am going to look for a bug eye and build it myself from the ground up. That way, I will know the complete history of the vehicle, and will not put my faith in another mechanic who just so happens to bullshit his way into a job at a dealership. Oh, and by the way...The guy who tore the car down at the dealership is not a Subaru Mechanic, he's from Mitsubishi. And to top things off, they have not told me exactly what caused the motor and turbo to fail while driving at a steady 45 mph on New Years Eve at 11:30pm. I towed the car to the dealership, dropped it off and haven't seen it since. Now that is what I call prompt customer service!

The first one

I bought the car used and It was all stock, minus the intake silencer. I found that out when I pulled the intake out to remove it myself. Other than that nothing was done except for a couple of factory options such as the Momo package. I added a Defi boost gauge and control unit to help keep things in check and have been slowly working on the car here and there, added the XM radio and iPod connection for better tunes, AEM intake for a little extra and am trying to figure out the exhaust. Now that it is dropped the handling is insane. I am on stock rims with BFG G-Force's but am waiting for the Momo Ten S to come in the right offset, 5x100 is a bitch. I ordered new DBA 4000 rotors today, and Hawk pads to stop it.
All in all I love the car, and it turns heads quite a bit. When I bought it the first thing I did was debadge it, and am asked about once a week, "What the hell is that?"

Factory Options:

GT Limited Wagon. 5EAT, Momo Package, 6 Disk, OEM Sub, Intercooled Turbo, Leather. Extended Warranty that is no good.

Exterior Modifications:

Cleared front lenses, 50% tint in the rear, debadged.

Interior Modifications:

Momo Shifter and Pedals.

Performance:

AEM intake.

Suspension/Chassis:

Tein 1.5 inch drop springs

Drivetrain:

New factory 5EAT trans at 40,000 miles. Had something wrong with it since I bought it.

Electronics:

DeFi Boost Gauge and Control Unit, XM in dash cubby and Ipod connector hidden in the console.

To-Do List:

Trade in for a CTS V.
