Purchased this beauty for $500 cash from a family friend with 133K miles on the chassis, and 40K miles on the engine. Original engine wound up throwing a rod due to a low oil condition. These cars LOVE to burn oil, thanks to the lack of oil return holes in the oil control ring lands. No idea how much oil this engine burns at this time.
Fixing some minor issues with the car and then it's time to rack up the miles on this piece of rolling tupperware!

It's not that people aren't capable if it, it's the cheap tint that's available that sets people up for failure.
Oh well, it was cheap to do and only cost me some of my weekend. I'll get some pics up in the appropriate album when I have time.

No, the tint isn't on yet. But, the old purple stuff is off. Yes! I've completely cleaned the side windows and they're ready for me to put on the tint, but unfortunately I've killed the battery on the car so I can't move it into the garage.
Once Wendy gets home I'll give the car a jump and recharge the battery. Unfortunately that means a grand total of 6 wasted hours. I'd be done with the side windows if it weren't for this. *Insert many inappropriate words here*
This is going to make this car look so much better. After that all the car needs to look decent on the outside is a new front bumper and fenderwell liners, a new front windshield and a good detail. Inside it still needs a good steam cleaning and a replacement headliner.
Good things come to those who wait. Well, those who do something about what's wrong with their cars.

Fixed the godawful squeal/grinding noise in the rear driver's side drum brake. Turns out a spring gave out and parts of it dropped in between the shoe and drum. For some odd reason the braking system didn't like it, and protested vehemently about it.
I'm wondering if I should return the unused drums and shoes I bought, or just put them on and call the brakes good for a long while. Hmm...
