My dad and I bought this car when I was 14 with 89,000 original miles on it (all maintenance records and owner's manual included) and began working on it. It was a long process, but by my 16th birthday it was running and mechanically sound, and by my 17th birthday it was completed. We basically did a frame off restoration with a motor swap and tranny rebuild. We pulled the original 307 and put a built 350 that was bored .030 over to 355 in. However, this isn't the current motor because the ppl didn't build the "built" engine correctly and it gave us problems, which we found out were caused by a cracked block. Anyway, it currently has a crate 350 HO that is bored .030 over to 355, but is stock otherwise with a Edelbrock 650cfm carb and Edelbrock Performer intake. It has true duals with reverse mounted glasspacks (I heard this amplifies sound) and an H pipe. The paint is Dupont Hot Hues Green Xtreme with silver Sprint stripes, and I might add that the paint job was a major pain (had to strip all the way to metal and work through Doug Holder's bad body work...long story). Due to bad gas mileage I quit driving this everyday (and I didn't want ppl banging the doors in parking lots and such w/ a $4000 paint job) so I got the Camaro as a daily driver.
Vinyl interior, stereo, drum brakes...c'mon it was 1972
None really besides the awesome paint job
None really...pretty much stock, but the front bench needs some upholstery work due to a hole in the passenger seat (we're the 2nd owners, the original wore a set of keys on his belt that poked a hole)
