Bought this monster from a 23 year old guy in Lusby, Maryland. He was keeping it as a show car at the time. I was 21 and it was the first car I financed completely myself.

So after receiving 3 tickets and being pulled over 3 times, I finally took the car to the dealership to see what they could do about making it legal again..... Well, it turns out the original owner put off road use only headers on the vehicle, and completely removed the egr and air pump systems, as well as two of the four o2 sensors..... to make it legal again, I'm going to have to buy an entirely new set of headers, and rebuild the air pump and egr system, as well as another two o2 senors and add bungs for them in the header kit... If I have the dealership do it, it'll cost $2900 not including the cost of the headers, which the cheapest I can find for a good set that I know will work is $1150.
I'm probably going to install the headers myself, and buy the air pump, egr system, and a couple o2 sensors from someone on ls1tech, and install that myself, then have my uncle who works at pep boys add the bungs for the o2 sensors and wire it up... it'll still cost me roughly $1500 and I have no absolute guarantees it will all work...
Oh yeah, and I had them check a problem with my transmission, it was an easy fix, but I also learned that the original owners changed the gear ratios... from the looks of it, he was turning a collector edition trans am into a drag car... what a fuckin idiot.

Tonight I installed the new wheels. 275/40zr17 in the front, 315/35zr17's in the back, Sumitomo brand, with Black American Racing League TTM's. Pictures will be up tomorrow... assuming it doesn't snow/rain/freeze over here....

So... This car has no Catalytic Converters, or o2 sensors hooked up... So I have to add them because Virginia emissions laws require them. I'm thinking about getting a pair of SLP High Flow Cat's, can anybody attest to their quality?

Added Direct Feed FM Modulator for XM Satellite Radio, and Direct Feed FM Modulator for Auxiliary Input. I chose to do this to keep the stock Monsoon Head Unit, It has several features I like better than After Market Units.
Replace Speakers and add an In-Car PC
Get emissions and safety inspections, then get new registration and tags.... Yeah, I've been driving it anyway.

Good choice in gundam I preferred Epyon though.
Sounds to me like you need to get a shop that will clear you without all that crap. Or go get a mail box in a county where they dont test as hard then get it registered/ inspected there. Might be cheaper

aww, they know it's illegal because all my inspections and tags are expired. it's ok though, i got a set of dynatech supermaxx headers, i shouldn't actually lose any power.
what a beautiful car ... you shouldn't put it back to stock tho.. it would be a waste of car parts already installed. And how do the cops know it's illegal? My car is far farrr from legal and they don't say anything at all...
