30th Anniversary Trans Am #0418
i purchased the car in May 2004. I first fell in love with fast cars when I saw a 30th Anniversary Trans Am at some races. I couldnt afford a 30th TA at the time. So when I purchased my first vehicle, it was a 95 Pontiac Formula. It was white and it was in good condition. I bought it for $5,000. Well one day I was at a friends home and I told him Ive always wanted a 30th TA. He told about one he saw at a small dealership. Well I went to check it out and there it was. All beat up and dirty in the corner, as if it didnt have an owner. Right away I gave it the name "Dirty 30" lol. The stealership was asking $17,500 because the engine supposedly had 500+ RWHP! Well I found out it was indeed modified but it did not have no where near 500 HP. It just had a small cam and ported heads. Well a few days later, I received a call from someone who wanted to purchase my 95 Formula. I drove to the guy and out of coincidence, he was a few blocks away from where the 30th TA was. The guy liked my Formula and purchased it right away for $5,000 ( :-D what i paid for it a year earlier lol)
Since I didnt have a car anymore, I went to the stealership and offered the guy $13,000 cash. He reallized I was the only one who cared enough to save the car so he accepted the offer. The next morning I went to pick it up and it was all nice and clean. I couldnt believe it myself, I was so excited. Unfortunatly, I had never driven a manual car. Luckily I understood how a manual transmission works and that was enough to make it home. Although it did turn off on me about 40 times in first gear LOL
Well a couple years ago I decided the car needed to be restored a bit. The seats were torn up badly and the paint was pretty ugly now. Well I took the car apart and sold what I didnt need. As of now, I still havent put it back together. This year however, I hope to get it running again. All new interior, all new engine, transmission, suspension, paint job, and a little mods here and there ;-)
I'll keep you updated.
