I purchased this car about 3 years ago when I was 15. I bought the car for $400 which included 3 extra rims, and a 305. I scrapped the rims for about $30, and sold the 305 for $200 so essentially I got the car for $170. The car ran, but it wasn't inspected and didnt have plates. The car sat at a building owned by a family friend. I first worked on the interior, finding everything in local junkyards for very reasonable prices. I converted the interior from the original light/dark grey to black/dark grey. I ended up replacing the dashpad, front seats, rear seats, carpet, speaker covers, and door panels all for about $200. I also found the missing ground effects that the previous owner hadn't found yet to complete the transformation from a Firebird S/E to a Trans Am; I found these pieces all for about $75. I removed the pinstriping, and began sanding. We ended up primering it there. The car was moved down to my house, and sat for most of the winter while doing some brake/suspension work whenever there was time. In the summer (Summer of 07) we ended up painting it in our garage after about two months of prepping the car.
I'm 18 now and the car is restored. I have done all of the work with the help of my dad. Now for the fun part. Who wants a Classic car with a stock V6 in it? Not me thats for sure, so I looked around for a little bit and stumbled upon a 400 SBC in a 79' Chevy. After getting it to run I took it home. So this Winter's project is build it up to about 450 HP to the flywheel, and swap it in!

I Removed the Crash Bar that was tweaked, and installed the Crash Bar off of the Notchback. I painted the Notchback's Crash Bar after taking care of the little rust that was on it. Looks good, and itll last now. I also put the Rear Bumper back on.
Black Rear Interior Plastics are in the Blue 86'. The are a little faded, but at the moment Im not worried about it. Atleast its all black now, with the rear plastics still having carpet like I wanted.
Also, I received my Aluminum Brodix Heads & Pro Comp HEI Distributor on Tuesday. They are so freakin light compared to the old cast heads that were on the engine when I bought it.

Tonight I removed the Crash Bar from the front of the car. I dont recommend doing it, especially if it's a daily driver like mine will be, but it's something to take weight off of the front of my car. I know the consequences of not having a Crash Bar, but anyone thinking about doing the same thing needs to understand too.
I also deleted the Charcoal Canister tonight too, which was on the passenger side because the car was a V6. Instead of deleting the return line I can use that as a fuel line. My original fuel lines are in need of replacing, but this return line is in decent shape.
Ill also need to pick up battery cables out of a V8 car, because the battery in a V6 is on the drivers side and in a V8 on the passengers side. Basically I dont need the extra 2 ft. of battery cable in my engine bay, since Im relocating the battery to the passenger side for now. Eventually Ill move the battery to the hatch.

I picked up a Brake Pedal for $10 to replace the Clutch/Brake Pedal Assembly I removed when I pulled the T5.
