Foreigner- Rev On The Red Line
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT & RATE ALL THE CARS IN MY GARAGE. THANKS.
IT'S A COPO CAR not an aftermarket modification.
I found this car somewhat neglected and in a used car lot here in Columbia. I negotiated for the car for more than 6 weeks. All the while I was documenting it's authenticity, history and rarity.
50 Black Birds were produced. (2001 + 2002 total)
7 Black Birds were convertibles.(1 -2001, 6 -2002)
2 Black Bird convertibles were Black. (2002)
The car is signed by Scott Settlemire, F-body VP at GM, and Matt Murphy, owner of GMMG who did the upgrade.
Currently has BF Goodrich's but I'm going back to the Goodyear Eagle F-1's next set I install.
Of course I would like it to be more powerful and faster, but considering this car is pretty much the way it rolled off the showroom floor, I feel bad about modding up a collector car.
Did I mention, I REALLY LOVE THIS CAR!!
HEY! Help me out, How would YOU classify this car? When I show it, it is the way it rolled off the showroom floor- With full factory warranty- and window sticker showing the build. I call it stock, but when I've entered shows, they say modified. I have nothing polished under the hood- all stock patina-finish. There's no way to compete with a true modified car that polishes everything under the hood and has nice fuel rail covers and just-MODS in general, whereas my car has no changes from the day it left the dealer. It's a COPO car.
What do you think?
A Camaro looks like it can kick your ass, a Trans Am looks like it's coming over to do it

While in Mobile, AL I visited the Battleship display. The nice folks at the museum opened up their display of their A12/SR-71 Blackbird aircraft and I was able to have some nice shots taken. Thanks to all who helped.
When I had the dealer pull a build sheet for me I thought they had just printed all the options available, turns out the only option my car does not have is traction control  makes sense though.

pulled 341 rwhp/ 355ftptq at G11.
Eibach performance springs- stock
I also added a UMI strut tower brace, It made an immediate difference in the handling. The best $80 I could spend.
While it's got a powerful engine, it looked a little bare. I put carbon fiber: fuelrail covers, brake resevoir cover, and battery cover in the engine bay to match the carbon fiber airbox. It gives it a nice finished look.
