About this Current Vehicle:

Bought the vehicle April 20th 2007 following loss of white 1999 Firebird due to impact damage to Fire Hydrant.....how ironic.

Added window tint on April 21st and then added decals to the body the following week.

Next plan is to change the stock wheels for Eagle Alloy 211's and Falken Ziex 512 tires. Had those on the 1999 Firebird but, two were damaged and it was more advantageous to leave the 2 good ones on for insurance reimbursement.

The vehicle now has an Alpine stereo with the Monsoon type sound and I've added Red interior lighting under the pilot and co-pilot foot areas.

I also intend on adding a Wings West front air dam after the wheels and tires sometime next year.

Painted calipers red 05/22/07.

Added a Magnaflow performance muffler and Magnaflow tips as of 05/25/07.

Added tail light blackouts 6/3/2007

Added "Trans Am" decals to brake calipers 6/12/2007

Added American Racing Torque Thrust II rims and Falken FK452 high performance tires on 3/7/2008

Added clear MTI SLP lid 3/16/2008. Estimated gain of 10hp.

Vehicle Journal:

Blacked out the side markers and third brake light.

Used Testors transparent black window tint paint and painted the side markers and third brake light. Worked real well and was half the price of VHT Nightshades paint. Picked it up from a hobby store and had it done in a couple hours.

Jul 25

Fog light and Turn signal Black out addition

Added Smoked fog light and turn signal black outs. Added "Last of the Breed" badges July 2008

Raced another hopped up Black Mustang GT and beat him 3 out of 3 on highway 270. Top speed: 117mph

The life and times of my Trans Am

Well, now I have 3 confirmed race wins against 3 different Mustangs. The first win was when I first got the car and whooped a 2004 Cobra. I'm not sure he knew how to drive the damn thing but, I beat his ass.

The next win was at the track against another 2000 something Mustang GT.

The last on was on or about February 2008 following a small cruise that my friend Gary and I were on. 2007 Mustang GT all black and out of luck. Gary and I were just cruising back when the Black GT went by on the far left fast lane.

Gary looked at me in his rear view and then I decided to move in for the kill. I banked left and squeezed it a little to catch up with him. I rolled up on his left side with my window down and he then rolled his down. I asked him if he wanted to go and he asked "Should we?" I nodded to him and said: "I think we should"

No warning from him when the race would start so, he just hit it. We hit it doing around 55-60 mph. He lunged out in front by at least 5 car lengths before I realized what was going on. Then I hit it and as soon as the LS1 hit 5th gear, my head pinned in the head rest and caught up to him rather quickly. He still had his foot into it but, didn't do him much good...........lol. I exited on my exit and he kept going straight but, paid me props with a thumbs up. 2 more Mustang kills and I will be considered an "ACE"

Factory Options:

All stock

Exterior Modifications:

Red and white decals for emblems, front windshield and rear window.

American Racing TTII rims and Falken FK452 HP tires.

Interior Modifications:

Red Pilot type floor lighting and added some red paint to interior surfaces

Performance:

K & N air filter equipped. MTI SLP airbox. Modified opening under air lid area for more cfm.

Suspension/Chassis:

Standard Trans Am suspension

Drivetrain:

Standard Trans Am automatic transmission

Electronics:

Alpine single CD and HD radio set.

To-Do List:

Upgrade the rims and tires in Spring 08. Eagle Alloy 211's with Falken ZE512 tires are the preferred type w/ gloss black painted outter hub and red anodized acorn lug nuts.--- Done but, not with Eagle Alloys. Got me some American Racing TTII's instead.

Eventually, a supercharger with a raised hood and headers will be added and 3.73 gearing on the ass end.

Need to change out some of the red decals with white and add some contrast. Inner bird will be white along with all names ending with "AM" in white.

Suspension is next with the addition of a strut tower brace and to tighten up the under carriage with some weld on subframe connectors and some adjustable spring/coil covers to lower the ass end. Should have this project completed by spring of next year with some winter months to take care of it.

By early spring of 2009, I hope to have a WS6 hood and a Vizage front air dam.

By spring 2010, the extended warranty will be up on the car and then I can start modding the engine and rear gearing. Looking to upgrade the intake manifold, throttle body, and MAF to include 90-95mm and a 10 bolt axle. Headers and super charger may end up getting done by 2011 but, not sure. Have to get the gearing and rear end prepared for any massive engine upgrades first.

This next winter, I plan to put it in the garage for some massive under carriage work. Plan to overhaul the brakes, shocks and some of the suspension pieces. I also plan on lowering the ass end a bit as it seems too high right now.
