I bought this car when I graduated from college. I REALLY wanted a WS6 but when I was searching I noticed they were $3-4K more than a regular Trans Am. I ran across this car at a used car dealership at a great price and decided to buy a "Ram Air" hood later.
Started out as a daily driver, then a street/strip car and now its primarily a drag car just because I don't need to drive it everyday. The car is VERY streetable especially since it still has the stock cam etc.
My current goals are to break into the 11's at our ungodly altitude with an interally stock engine. She currently runs 12.2X's@109 on 1.63 60's in about 8000ft density altitude, unfortunately Albuquerque is located in a mountainous region and our actual physical location is 5350ft. I'm pretty close to achieving my goal but I'm also running thin on what she has left on the table. I'll see how close I can get this November (06). I still have 100lbs left to lose on the car and the chassis should weigh in at 2800lbs or so when done. I have yet to cut the car up in any way shape or form. If I can't do it with weight I'll do it with gearing.

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost 7 months!
I'll add more but quick and dirty, I added Wolfe SFC's and now that the chassis is stiffer I'm having traction issues. Suspension work is needed.
Track times, vids and more details to come.

Well I got everything done that I wanted to get done before we headed out to Roswell.
Best of the night was
11.88@112.6 1.63 60'
11.89@114.8 1.60 60'
Times were a little weird but I was having a hard time figuring out the track. The additional power did expose weak areas in the car that I need to address. Might have to wait though as the alternator doesn't seem to be charging and there are strange noises coming from the car. The clutch could be on its way out, but that's speculation at this point.

Big date is coming up. Plans are to travel to Roswell NM Oct 13th and run at the best track in this region and at a lower altitude to boot!
To-Do list, Mount kirkey seat, fit and mount VFN hood, change all oils (engine, transmission, differential), chase electrical gremlin in dash.
Wtih all this done the car should weigh in at 2900lbs or pretty close to it. Goal is to hit 11's in Roswell, and ultimately run 11's here in Albuquerque

nice car.
Very Nice ride!! Anything new happinin? Did you get your current times with just engine and listed mods or was something special added
?
I know huh?
Nothing to report though
I think we need some updates
Almost forgot. I've got the same exhaust set-up and love it. The car gets compliments all the time on the road from total strangers. Sometimes they don't even drive Camaros/Firebirds.
Looks like you've done quite a bit of weight reduction. I may go with one of those lightweight Odyssey batteries in the future. Good luck with the car.
very nice car I like it
