This is the very first brand new car I've purchased. I bought it on December 8, 1999. It had 61 miles on the odometer. To be honest, I was raised a Chevy guy & wasn't looking to buy a Pontiac.
My car at the time, the '88 Camaro, was over 200,000 on mileage and beginning to have transmission troubles again. I'd already spent a ton of money on having Aamco rebuild the transmission, and wasn't looking to go through that again. So, on the evening of December 7th I went out to the car lot to look at a red Camaro they had on the lot. It was after hours, and I had planned it that way as to not be badgered by a salesman. Well the Camaro was back into the rows of car, and on the very corner at the entrance sat this Pewter Metallic Trans Am. Honestly, I was taken back by it and never did go back and look at that red Camaro. The next day I took a half day at work, and drove to the dealership to take a test drive. As soon as I started the car, I knew I was going home with it that very day.
I left the car bone-stock for about the first six months of ownership, and then I installed a K&N air filter. I guess as they say the rest is history....it snowballed from there.
