About this Current Vehicle:

Growing up I always liked cars and trucks, it made sense as I entered high school I started paying attention to modified cars. I liked the 5.0 Mustangs but a friend at the time had a full bolt on, heads and cam 89 Formula 350. That car got me hooked on F-bodies, looking back it was probably a 13 second car on it’s best day but it was the fastest thing I had ever rode in till that point. I set out looking for my own Gen 3 Formula how ever came up empty handed. Most were beat up past the point of saving, the search then turned to a 4th gen. I remembered seeing a 97 Trans Am for sale, red, T-tops and the dealer wanted $17K, this was around 1999, so I thought a Trans Am would be out of reach and most were. Long story short, we found this car at Spring branch Honda a few weeks after my 16th Birthday in 2000, it had a little over 41K miles and was stock as could be. The sales guy made mention it was traded in for a Honda minivan. Getting this car was a dream come true, when the sales guy pulled it up after putting gas in it, I couldn’t believe that was my car. 10 years later, I still have it. It’s been slowly modified to what it is now, my goal is to build as I would have when I was 16. I remember making mod lists on my graphing calculator in Algebra class when I was in high school of what I wanted to do to the car. Slowly those dreams are coming true, I don’t know many car guys can say they got a chance to build their first car exactly how they wanted to had they been given the chance.

AS&M TB Install 93 LT1 People READ this

This install was dumb luck, the TB as it comes from AS&M uses a 94+ Style IAC housing, so the valve actually bolts in, 93s how ever are the older type that screw in. So what are you to do? Well in my case I lucked out and found a AS&M Throttle Body IAC plate for the 93 style IAC valve on Speeddensity.org and was able to swap it over. How ever if you don't fall ass backwards in to some thing like that, you need to find a 94+ style connector off the internet (I have one if any one wants one) and go get a 94+ IAC Valve from your Auto parts store. With some minor rewiring you should be golden. Also when you order a TB for your 93 AUTOMATIC make sure it has provisions for a kick down cable if not, you arent going any where. Once you have the Throttle Body installed, go to TCI's web site and read their guide on how to adjust the T.V cable. The first time I drove the car, it wouldnt shift, the TCI guide is pretty good.
