I bought this car three years ago and after driving it for a year I took it off of the road to do a full restoration. I plan on putting the '78 front clip and rear bumper on it as well as doing a mini-tub to allow for bigger wheels in the rear. It is a factory Trans Am SE with the WS6 package as well. It came with a 301 turbo with the turbo 350 tranny, as well as the 10 bolt rear end with 3.08 gears and disc brakes. The pictures that I have posted right now are what I am wanting mine to look like, so basically like the Burt Reynolds Trans Am from Year One. These are pictures from their site, so please don't think that this is my car and pictures I took of it. Right now it is still completely tore down and ready for the paint and body work.

Alright, I decided that I love the sound of a magna charger on the '05-'06 GTO's. I like the performance potential the LS2 offers and paired with a Maggie you just cannot go wrong. I found a company that will sell a complete dropout engine/tranny combo with the pedals, computer, and wiring harness from an '05 or '06 GTO at a decent price. So the 383 will currently move the car around while I'm doing the body work and then eventually I will sell that engine to make room for the new engine. I also have been doing some research on running a dry sump system similar to the one found on the LS9 in the ZR1 Vette. Going this route will give me a significant amount of clearance and possibly let me lower the engine some for better weight distribution, since I plan on Auto-Xing the hell out of this car. Let me know what you guys think of the plan, just send me a pm.
WS6
Mini-tub kit from DSE, Year One Snowflake wheels(front 18x9, rear 18x12), working on some LED taillights and upgraded headlights like the ones in the pictures. Flush to the body front windshield and rear window.
Supra Seats, new carpet, new door panels, self-made gauge panel, aftermarked AC/Heater unit, more mods will be listed. Factory gauges replaced with autometer gauges. I'm using a 4th gen Firebird manual console as well as the seatbelts.
LS2 & T56 combo from a '05-'06 GTO, Long-tube headers & full-length exhaust from Edelbrock. Maggie in the works for future use with head and cam change.
Complete front sub-frame from DSE as well as new leaf-springs included in the mini-tub kit that will lower the car 2 inches. more mods will be listed.
T56 transmission, considering beefing up the rearend, 3.73 rear gears
I'm planning on something simple. I love hearing the sound of the engine, but would like some tunes for the cruises. I really like what Detroit Speed & Engineering did on Dale Jr.'s Camaro for the rear package tray (two 6 X 9's and a sub in the middle of them. For the radio, I haven't decided on a specific brand but I'm guessing just a cd player that goes with the theme of the car. I'd also like to have a cd-changer mounted in the trunk, probably in the vicinity of where the amp will be. This car will definately have a security system probably one of Viper's set ups or something similar to them. I also plan on purchasing the GPS Snitch since I want to know exactly where my car in the event it is stolen.

How are things goin for ya man? Since the forums dropped I haven't had a chance to chit-chat with you. How is the pregnancy coming along? Best wishes for you guys.
Should be a straight bolt on.
Does the 78 nose bolt right up, or does it take alot of mods to do it? I had the 1980 Pace Car, the 301 cid turbo was a dog but it was still fun and looked great.
No not yet, waiting for some money to come in to buy it. I am saving up for it though.
Thanks for the comment. That thing will be sweet once you get it all buttoned up! Do you already have the LS2?
Very nice choice in restoration
I never really liked this body style but i must admit i would drive that car every day.
