Hey everyone, my name is David and I am 17. This is my first muscle car, and ive become very attached to it. This car has come along way, and for being as huge as it is, ive gotten it to be kind of quick. There really is not a whole lot i can do to it to make this 403 a beast, without pulling the motor. But within a year or two, i might just do that. And if i do that, it will only be to get into the 12 second range in the quarter mile. All i want out of this car, is 12 seconds. The previous owner claimes it ran a 13.5 when he had it, but i dont know if that is true or not. We will just have to find out this next coming spring, at the track. But, if i do infact pull the motor, i will go with a cam swap and some valvetrain upgrades. I would also, along with the overhaul, bore this .30 over and look for some old 350 heads from the "good" head era for oldsmobile. If i can not find any, i will just end up porting and polishing my current heads. I am not really huge into the street racing scene, seeing as its dangerous and just straight up stupid, but I get carried away at times when im with my buddies and we are on huge roads where there isnt much traffic. Many import drivers seem to believe, that since their car weighs so much less, and has a big v6, they can take me. I have to proove them wrong, time after time. But yes, my car is huge, but your forgetting the amount of torque i have. These 403's came with 320-325 lbs of tq from the factory, and im sure i have added to this, along with my gearing in the rear end. Sure, i spin like mad hell off the line, but i will get traction some time, and when i do, i usually float on by. The only reason why i do not run with drag radials, is because i have the stock 8.5 10 bolt, and do not wish to blow that up just yet, once i have alot of extra money, and im done with the motor, i will get a bigger rear end, and nice sticky tires. Until then, i just have to controll my foot off the line, if i just ease into the throttle, i tend to do much better than just stomping on it. Currently, i have only lost to one car, which was a z28 lt1. I am not making any excuses, this car is pretty quick, with his stall converter and decent exhaust set up ( SLP i believe ), but if i would have eased into the throttle, rather than just flooring it from the line, i would have had em. We were neck and neck most of the race, until the end where he beat me by a bumper or so. That was before i had my gears in though. And, the most impressive imported car that i have raced, and beaten was one of those WRX STI's. From a roll, He'd beat me, but from the race we did, which was from a dig, i got him.
As of now, the car is all in primer grey, i had a lot of body work to do, and i just about finished it all. I am going with a starlight black, sometime this year.
Thats all for now, I'm sure i'll update this soon.

Mostly Stock, just some new replacement parts.
8.5 10 bolt with Motive Performance 3.73 gears.
I love those gears, they brought the trans am to life.
My tires do not like them so much though.
There is also a B&m Shiftkit in the th350, which i did not do, it came with it.
But, im going to need to rebuild it with stronger internals to handle the new horsepower
I dont worry about that stuff with this car, i just want the thing to be fast, i do not need a radio. My music is the sound of the car.
