About this Current Vehicle:

I first fell in love with the Motor trend Pontiac GPX concept car, and was sold on the car from that moment. Searched for cars since 97 but waited to purchase in 1999, I wanted last model for 1900 model year before the new century, and also give GM time to work out the bugs during first two years of production.
Found and bought the exact car I wanted, with all options (minus moonroof), brand new in November 1998.

First track day ever

After many questioning when the car was going to be ready, i finally decided to just run it and get some base #'s at least. Still have 3yr old Z-rated's on there and kept spinning tires, but, eh.
Pleasantly happy I ended up being about ~4 tenths slower than a stock 03 cobra. Of course.. I spent half as much the cost of a cobra to mod my car to this point. Oh well.
All in all, people at the track were rumored to be taking note of the little 6 banger saying that it moves really well !
After finishing this 3 year project, it's time to move on to practicing reaction times and launch.

Trans tuning is fun

Drove the car all day tuning the trans. Dayum its tiresome. But HELLA fun! I tuned my performance shift settings so the car drives like a warrior ready to do battle on street. Also setup my skip shifts and kept held my gears longer for better acceleration. At the end of the day, I think I had whiplash from the trans jerking into the next gear but I had soooo much fun. Car feels like a different animal with performance shift emabled. I even tuned my freeway gears so it finally skipshifts and pulls hard even at 85mph. So glad i have an Intense race Transmission to take the punishment.

Tuning the trans

My trans was not downshifting from 4th to 2nd on freeway drops. My top speed was also cutting off at 100ish unless I would re-stab the throttle to punch it out of the lull for some reason. With my HP Tuner, I found the problem and tuned it out. My steeper 2nd gear maxes out around 5200@103mph, yet my 2nd to 3rd RPM upshift was set too high at 6500RPM. No wonder the car wasn't upshifting to the next gear! Made the adjustment and car pulls well, and shifts well.
Passing on the freeway will be so much fun from here on!

Engine's broken in and ready. Just need tires. She's still using the tires that were flat for 3 years during storage while she was down. I'm lookn for tires now.

yeah, double gasketing created a coolant leak into my oil pan. I would recomend contacting PRJ performance for an inexpensive milled cover plate to use instead. 3250 is a bit high, I think I would have preferred a 3000 for better street performance, bu

nice double roller rub you got there Grin I double gasketed mine but I still wanna pull the cover and check it out.

how's that 3250 stall working out for you? I was considering 3000 but i was thinkin it'd be too high for a daily driver

thanks fo
