It was unusually warm around here today so I decided to do a little work on the car. got the reflective rear insert on, and the 2 LS2GTO.com stickers on the rear windows. finished early so I decided to put the CAI on. Then I said the dumbest thing......"this should only take 30 minuets"
boy was I wrong. took 2.5 hours. getting the old intake out took 45 minuets because I was trying to be careful, and if I find the guy that designed this thing I will kick him in the nuts. I eventually gave up and just riped the thing out. well it took me over a hour to line up the MAF on the new air box and get it screwed in tight. its not a design fault, its just I really could have used a second set up hands to hold all the needed parts in place. Well as I am finishing things up a guy pulls up in a truck and chats me up. come to find out he has a 64 GTO. pretty cool guy, and I finished up as the clouds started to rolled in.

Backstory:
I spent 15 months deployed to Kosovo, all the time looking for a Trans Am or GTO for when I got home. well that time came and went and there were none to be found within a reasonable distance with the options, color combo, price I wanted. I had actually given up and had set my mind on the new G8 from Pontiac.
Well as I was packing up to go home for Christmas on 21 DEC 2007 I just happen to have been wasting time by screwing around on the web. I found myself at autotrader.com looking around. I had actually not been to autotrader since I got back from overseas so I still had my parents info in the search parameters. I didn't realize this, or the fact that I forgot to set the search radius as I hit search resulting in only a 25 mile search radius. I remember realizing that as I hit search and uttered a word or 2 waiting for the page to load so I could change my search options. Well to my surprise 5 GTO's popped up. and at the top of the list was a blue on blue, M6, LS2 GTO. Mileage was a little more than I wanted but I figured I would check it out since I had come up with nothing in the last 17 months.

I head out to the dealer to see the car. come to find out he is a car enthusiast also.

I fell in love with it as soon as I got in the car. To say the least I left the lot with the GTO. Now I just have to figure out how the hell to get my Firebird back from my parents place lol

Good looking car man, I don't think I've ever seen it in person yet. You going to head out to some events this summer?
If you need a hand with any more installs, hit me up on here and I'll try to help.
Gotta love the Australian cars!
Awesome goat--please check out my wife's '04 on my site when you get a chance (and leave a comment 4 her), if you haven't already!
That Impulse blue will be the classic color. Take care of her!
Glad to read you found What you wanted with Blue on Blue.
Good luck on getting the mods done and hope it happes soon!
Nice car, The stock 18s look great, if only they were a bit wider...
I love that color as well, and especially the blue interior. I kinda wish my Goat had at least some orange inserts on the doors and in the middle of the seats. Personally I think that would've complimented the gauge cluster.
one of my buddys has a goat and it love nitrous
blue is a very nice color for a goat!!!
