NOTES SECTION:
This car was originally ordered in October of 1991, it was delivered to the original owner in May of 1992. In between that time my cars portfolio includes a stack of faxes, letters and documents that went back and forth from Ed Hamburger at SLP and original owner. Things such as..... how many cars where selling, keeping up to date on delivery, backing off the original 250 production count due to part shortages and many other interesting details. One thing I did notice was you could have ordered the 1992 Firehawk in Yellow. (I know yellow on the firebird was hot back then, wonder why no one did?) I knew you could order black, as one was ordered and cancelled I believe?
Car and Driver Magazine-June 1991: "The Firehawk succeeds as a 1990's Hot Rod. It is fast, ferocious and clean."
Motor Trend-August 1991: "The Firehawk special is a true ZR-1 chaser, impressive, awe-inspiring, scary."
Automotive News-April 29th 1991: "Firebreathing Firehawks roost at Pontiac. Owners of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches and even ZR-1 Corvettes had better beware of these red Pontiac Firebirds."
High Perfomance Pontiacs-October 1991: "Quickest Street Pontiac Ever!"
Dealer had to wholesale order car using special order form SLP supplied to the dealer.
