About this Current Vehicle:

I brought my Formula home on April 24, 2003 from Huber Heights, Ohio. I stumbled upon the ad on the AutoTrader website and had to have it. It had 24,000 miles when I brought it home. The car was completely stock...for a few minutes.

It Shifted!

We loaded a fresh operating system in the PCM on Sunday to see if we could get the trans to shift. I was rewarded with a handful of 11 second passes! The best of the day was a 11.93 @ 110.90 MPH on a 1.53 60' and a handful of passes in the 111 MPH range with 1.52 60' times. With 60' times in that range I have a feeling the 10-bolt will be around much longer.

I'm happy to finally have this thing shift into 3rd, and I'm happy to be in the 11s with an entirely stock engine, but I know I have some work ahead of me. I need to throw it on the dyno to get some tuning done. No matter how much he added at the track, Tracey couldn't get it to take any fuel so it's still running ultra lean. The car was running through the traps at over 6,500 RPM, so I need to step up to a taller tire as well. I'm not comfortable running the stock springs that high and I know it stops making power at 6,100 RPM.

My ultimate goal for this combination is to have a street car that runs consistent 11.60s, completely stock engine, and a race weight of just under 3,400 lbs. Things will start to get really nasty when that blows up.

Bene, the ratchet shifter wouldn't quite work with the original console. It looks factory with the 6-speed console.

Why do you have 6 speed console? Do have any pictures of it?
