About this Previous Vehicle:

Sold; 9/13/08

This was my ProCharged V6 Firebird.
I bought this 1998 Firebird in 2002 with the intention of “maybe” putting a small nitrous shot on the car … eventually. Five years later, “a little shot of nitrous” just makes me laugh. In 2006, the car went 12.1 on a stock engine, 12-15 psi boost and a small 60 wet shot before going lean and chipping three pistons. It's been over a year since that happend and I've finally gotten the car back together -- kinda sorta.
-----------------
Not really ready to drive yet - but here's a clip of the car starting with the blower on. Grin

While we were working on the new blower setup, my Dad and Uncle Kenny "threw together" a true dual setup for the car -- here's a sound clip.

Here's my bird going 12.1... a week before it went lean (Grrr)

Don't ask, you can't have one, lol
Pathogen's Firebird
The ProCharger P600 kit previously sported by this car was home grown in my dad's garage, so you can't buy one. You can get a P1SC kit from Mach Performance in MI... I don't know a whole lot about that kit, but Google is your friend.

"And in the Auto Fab lane is a ... Fire... a Pontiac."
Pathogen's Firebird
It's a Firestorm dang it - you've never seen one before and you're never going to see one again. lol

Vehicle Journal:

Nov 18

12.100 @ 114 w/ 1.76 60'

All we did from the last run is change the tires from 28" Hoosier slicks to 26" worn-out "shop loaner" BFGs. -- Offically completely maxed out the MAF and need to do something about crank case pressure before.

Suggestions welcome!

Dyno & Shake Down! WHOOT!

Dyno tuned on Saturday and hit the track Sunday .... kind've a spur of the moment thing.

After four hrs the car was putting down 330/338 on the F-Body Central Mustang Dyno... but spinning when we tried to do simulated pulls.

Pathogen's Firebird

The following day, on a whim, the shop owner (Jason) baited me out to Mason Dixon Dragyway with a set of 28" Hoosier slicks - "Just to see what the car would do."

End result? well - the car doesn't like 28" tires with the 3.23 gears. (grr)
But shake all three passes we made were 12.3 around 110.... First pass of the day was no burnout and I let off somewhere around the 1/8 ... went 12.3 coasting through the traps at 104mph.

Found some problems we knew were there, but over all I'm thrilled with it's first day out.

This car has so much more in Grin

Frustrated? You have no idea.

Over the weekend I took the factory jack out and put the car as high as as possible... and then placed my SINGLE jackstand under it. Why? Well, I'd given up on trying to put ducting on the car while it was sitting on the apartment parking lot.

After a few hrs, I'd found enough peices in my bucket of parts that I could get MOST of the ducting done -- right now there's a good kink in one coupler and I need a 45' peice to finish the work. Hopefully after I cut one of the two peices I have left in the bucket I'll be able to take the car for dyno. Smile
