Dean Martin - Volare
This Car was purchased by my Grandparents in 1979. It was purchased from sheey plymouth in Fairfax Virginia. They were the second owners. I was promised this car as being mine, at about the age of 7. In 1991 it became mine. It had only 77xxx miles on it.
My Grandfather and I drove the car down from Virginia to my home in Lexington SC in August of 1991. Unfortunately it would be mine for only about 6 months. In February of 1992, as a sophmore in High School, I totalled the car. Here's How.
It was a cold morning, myself, Justin & Jeremy Stoudemire and my buddy Andy Leyda were going to school. We were listening to Van Halens relatively new album F.U.C.K. pretty loudly on my system in my car. We were at the intersection of Kitty Wake and Highway 1 waiting on the guy in front of me to turn. We were making a left off of Kitty Wake, and back then there were no stop lights, no crossing arms, nothing but the lights and bell, that we couldnt hear because of the stereo playing the new song "Right Now" and us yelling at why the idiot in front of me wouldnt turn. Well he finally pulled forward, turned around, and pointed. I slammed the car in reverse, and it stalled.. About the time I reached up for my keys, the train hit us. Luckily no one was hurt, we were all pissed that my car was totalled. To this day, i still wish that hadnt happened... and I still wish i had my volare still.

to bad it was your grandparents car, and your first.....cant really replace that, but cheers, you got the purple 92 and she has a sweet family heritage.
Ah... that poor Volare...
Luckily you can still find them around every once and a while.
That's one hell of a story on the fate of this car! The saying "It's better to burn out than fade away" comes to mind.
