in the late 70s, Chrysler carried on the Roadrunner name as a trim package on its RWD V8 Volares. This car has the rare A26 package with not only the stripe kit but also the wheel flares.
I bought this car with the 340 built and installed. It ran good but had quite a few bottlenecks in the setup. I quickly took it from a high 10 sec car to mid 8s (1/8 mile local track).
It was a very strong runner and fun to drive in High School! Back in 1996, I took it to the Don Garlits show in Ocala and on the way back it developed a hard knock and a miss. The #1 rod cap literally fell off and the crank beat it thru the side of the block, however it was still idling on the side of the road!
Many interuptions and projects later, this car still sits without an engine.

Remarkable car, to say the least. Definitely don't see them around too often anymore!
Long live the Chrysler F-body!

Cool Mopar, I didn't even know they made them in 78.
