Granny's Hot Rod!

1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

About this Current Vehicle:

The actual model is Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic.

My grandmother purchased this car brand new for cash in 1987 I believe.

She put 223k miles on it before retiring it and giving it to me for some much needed TLC and a restification project.

It's currently under the wrench...

I've done a TON of work, and I have lots of pics of the stuff I've done along the way, I'll have to upload some of them here before too long.

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time painting stuff that's going on the engine, getting it all ready to go into the car. I'd like to have it looking as nice as possible when it goes in. I think I have all the brackets, pulleys and stuff primed and can do the final painting next week so that part will be out of the way.

Still a long way to go on this project though. Tons of body work to do, the rear end to tackle, the trans, suspension, wheels and tires, dash, etc.

Factory Options:

Power windows
Power Locks
Tilt-steering
Cruise Control
Air Conditioning
2.73 Open differential rear end

Interior Modifications:

Performance:

The new engine is a 350, bored .040 over with a healthy cam. It's got a set of 88 Trans Am heads, a Summit Racing Stage 1 intake manifold and an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, with a chrome air cleaner. I'll be using a serpentine belt setup from an 89-92 Camaro/Firebird and a dual electric fan setup on the radiator. I have a set of long tube headers for the car too.

Suspension/Chassis:

To-Do List:

Finish the engine assembly with serpentine bracket/accessory assembly.
Get the trans rebuilt, install the converter and get it, trans, and the engine in the car.
Install radiator with dual electric cooling fan setup.
Install new trans cooler lines and secondary high capacity transmission cooler.
Install lowering springs and upgraded shocks.
Install 3.73 posi rear from ~87 Monte SS
Do custom gauge cluster for dash, and brushed aluminum interior.
Body work and paint ( Hurst/442 spoiler?)
New wheels and tires.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of stuff, but that's the basics anyway.
