I bought thiscar about 13 years ago, after I sold my '61 Impala. I bought it because it had new GM 1/4s installed on it. Unfortunately, after digging out the body work I discovered that I had to install new 1/4s as the one on the car had been installed incorrectly! The entire weather stripping rail in the trunk was rotted out because they had just pushed the 1/4s into the slot without removing all of the original 1/4. This in turn had rotted out the trunk floor, though the floor in the rest of the car was soild.
I've had the car so long that I painted it, started to assemble it, then took it back apart to improve some of my bodywork and paint it again, this time in a different color!
I call the car Inamorata because my wife refers to it as "the other woman." She doesn't really "get" my love of cars, but she thinks it's great that I love them. Hey, I have a great wife, what can I say. Besides, she picked the color... can't complain about her choice!
Well, I am now employed again!! As soon as the paycheck start up, I will have to get back on it!
