Bullfrog Racing, my friend Kermit and I, picked up this Miata in need of some TLC for $1,000 even in June of 2009. We went in half on it with the plan of building it into a R-package replica Miata for competition in SCCA Solo II autocross competition in the ES class (E-Stock). We've both had cars fast in straight lines that we've sunk a ton of money in to, I've had a bike, but we're having more fun working on, restoring, and driving this little Miata around the autocross course than anything else...and best of all it's extremely inexpensive. As I bought a house in 2009 I'm putting all my money I used to put in cars into my house, so the idea was to be able to keep my hobby for a minimal amount invested. This Miata was just the ticket. We hope to hone our rough autocross skills over the next few years and hopefully be competitive within our class before long.
