About this Current Vehicle:

I saw this old red Cherokee 2 door in the back yard of this house in my nieghborhood. I had been sitting for almost a year. So I finally decided to see if they wanted to sell it, because I love 2 door XJs. I walked up and asked this nice old man about it, he told me it was his sons and that it wasnt working. Well I got under it and thought it might be the starter, I called up the son to talk money and he told me that the starter went out and he couldnt afford to buy a new one. We agreed on $1000 and I would pick it up later. So what did I do, I got on ebay and won a starter for 99 cents, AWW YEA. It came in a week later and I went to the back and got the money out of my account and went over. Well guess what, the guy had promised it to some other guy for $1500, I got pissed and called him up and he said if I wanted it I needed 1500, so I went back to the back and got the 500 extra went back with the cash in my fist and told him what else. He gave me the title. I went back that night and got her running. The battery and the starter were toast. So it had 270K miles on it. Ran great.

Factory Options:

High Output 4.0 Straight 6 cylinder. 190 hp @ 4750 rpm, 220 ft lb @ 4,000 rpm, grunt like Tim Allen. hahaha. It has the AX15 Manual 5-speed transmission. Its 4 wheel drive and has the New Process NP231 transfer case. It has Dana D30 front axle with the GAY Vacuum Center Disconnect. It has the Dana D35 rear axle. AC and Casette player. Grey Standard upholstery. Standard windows and locks. Basically my Jeep came from the factory as a stripper model.

Exterior Modifications:

I bought some nice Pepboys Mudterrain tires. It needed new tires, so I went in and my old boss told me if I bought a set of 3 he would give me the fourth free. Nice, you cant beat that kind of deal. Plus I got a discount with my commercial account. Double Nice.

Now that its lifted I took off the wheel flares to make room for the bigger tires, but other than that nothing.

Interior Modifications:

The guy sold it to me as a piece of junk, he said it was in good condition, but man he freaking lied through his teeth. The headliner was sagging so much I couldnt see out the back window through the mirror. The Cassette player didnt work. The console was cracked and missing the back half. It was missing the driver side door panel, the door latches were broken, the locks were broken

SO what I did was I ripped out all the fabric on the roof and spray painted it grey, and it matched the color perfect. Plus no more worrying about sagging roof. I got some new door latches off ebay and door locks from AutoZone. I shampooed the carpet and the seats, so they are cleaner then they were, some stains just dont come out.

Performance:

None really. I replaced the oil pan gasket and the valve cover gasket, only to my dismay. They guy told me that he had always changed the oil and taken real good care of it. YEA RIGHT! I pulled off the valve cover and I wanted to cry. It looked like Peanut butter on all the lifters. I really doubt he would change the oil regularly, and if he did he must of used Penzoil or Quaker, or maybe cheap Drugstore Oil. It was pathetic.

Suspension/Chassis:

Rubicon Express 3.5" Super Flex lift. Rubicon Express track bar and twin tube shocks.

Drivetrain:

Stock

Electronics:

I got a Kenwood CD player, sounds great.

To-Do List:

fix transmission and engine
