I bought my truck from a friend for $600. I like my truck, which is a shock, because I am not that much of a Ford guy. Now don't get me wrong, I drool over Cobras like this one:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lQX3cOAbes In fact, I would trade my Lumina for that car without hesitation...

I got the Centerforce off of ebay for 75 shipped. The guy that had it had a Murker XR4-Ti that threw a rod, so he parted it out, and I bought the clutch with 10k mines on it. Technically it wasn't the one according to the CF site for my truck, but it works fine. I got to test the new clutch and tranny combo out last night as I pulled my friends new $150 95 VW Jetta w/ a blown clutch on a tow dolly to my house so we could start ripping it apart. The truck had no problem whatsoever hitting 55 with the tailgate up and the car on the dolly. I was shocked because it is rated at 98 HP new, and I am sure that's probably at the crank. I could feel the weight on it (duh) but as I said it got going just fine. Clutch didn't slip an ounce, and the tranny shifted just as smooth as it would without the added weight.
PS, Sliding rear window, gauge cluster w/ tach
I wash it once in a while.
20% tint (25% is legal limit, but I've never been bothered by police about it).
I changed the timing belt, plugs and wires not to long after I got it, and it felt like it gained a bit of performance after that rofl!
Untouched besides adding a Hidden Hitch that was given to me along with a tow dolly in exchange for work I did to a van. I have now replaced all shocks, suspension bushings (including radius arm bushings and axle pivot bushings), shackle mounts, and rear cab mounts (so the cab doesn't flop going over bumps). The truck now almost rides as nice as a car. It doesn't handle like one, but it rides really nice now.
Transmission went out at around 164k, so I had to get another stocker that had around 110k miles on it. I was also too broke at the time to buy a new cluch so I had to use the Centerforce I had sitting on the shelf that I had planned on using when I did a turbo swap from a Turbo Coupe T-bird (same engine). My diff carrier bearings grenaded, so I bought a complete rear end from a junk yard that came out of a Mazda truck. Sadly it was still a 7.5" because the 8.8" were just out of my price range. On a good note, I now have 3.73 gears instead of 3.45, 10"x2" drums instead of 9"x1 1/2", and limited slip.
Pioneer detachable face HU with custom burned out backlights. I also tore out the stock blown front speakers and installed a pair of Kenwood 5 1/2" triaxials I had sitting around and used some paneling to cover the gaping hole left since the stock ones were 5x7"s. It's not impressive, but it does sound a lot better- and still beats nothing.
Get rich, swap in 4wd and a Supercharged 3.8 from a T-bird SC or do the turbo swap idea. the v8 thing is popular, and cool, but a dime a dozen.
