I just purchased this beautiful 93 Saleen Mustang. There were only 56 hatchbacks made in 93. This car has a lot of good Saleen options like the originally ordered Sterns wheels. Although they are not the highly desired 3 piece Sterns, they are the 1 piece Sterns and I LOVE them just the same. The car also came with the Saleen 3.55 gears, Uniden radar detector and Pioneer cd player w/ eq. In 92 Saleen switched from FloFit seats to Recaro's which I actually like better. The FloFit's have been known to lean inwards or lean backwards too. The car has a lot of BBK items like the SSI intake w/ 70mm throttle body, high flow fuel rails, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, equal length shorty headers, CAI w/ mass air flow meter, strut tower brace, optima red top batt, and BBK aluminum valve covers. The were not many 93's made anyways, but it is 1 of 2 or 3 with the factory sunroof.
The factory options are: power windows, power locks, power mirrors, sunroof, cruise, rear defog, tinted windows, cloth interior, and 5 spd transmission.
The car has the full Saleen package that was ordered when new. The car is #20 out of 56 hatchbacks and 1 out of 102 Saleens produced in 93. The car has a lower front air damn, right & left side skirts, rear lower valance, and a hatch wing.
The Saleen package in 93 came with Recaro's instead of FlotFits, which FloFits are the roots to Saleen. The dash has custom Saleen tach and 170mph speedo. The car also came with a Hurst short throw shifter, numbered dash plaque and custom Saleen floor mats.
Saleen offered factory installed Vortech superchargers but this car did not come with one, too bad for me. When you bought a Saleen and did not opt for the blower the powerplant was pretty much stock Mustang LX 5.0L. The car now has been treated to a lot of BBK goodies. The intake has been changed to the SSI w/ 70mm throttle body, equal length shorty headers, CAI in the fenderwell, Ford Motorsport wires, BBK high flow fuel rails, BBK adj fuel pressure regulator, and there will be more to come.
Saleens come with Racecraft suspensions. this includes Monroe Formula GP shocks & struts, larger sway bars, special rate springs and 4 wheel disc brakes.
This Saleen was optioned with the 3.55 gear set with positraction rear end. The car has a Borg Warner T-5 transmission w/ a Hurst shifter (soon to be Pro 5.0 shifter)
The car was optioned with a Pioneer cd player in 93, but that has since been replaced with a newer Pioneer cd player w/ all new Pioneer dash, front door, and rear speakers. I am going to redo the stereo and add rear subwoofer in the cargo area.
I am going to redo the stereo to add a subwoofer box in the cargo area. I am going to redo the complete braking system with all new calipers, master cylinder, rotors and stainless steel braided brake lines. 4 new shocks and struts, bump steer tie rod ends, long tube headers w/ off road x pipe. I will eventually redo the 302 and make it a 347 or replace the 302 with a nice healthy 347. I always keep all the original equipment that came on the car for the future. I absolutely love this car and have wanted a Saleen since the 80's. I will be adding a ton of pictures of this car.
