Big Head Todd and The Monsters (Blue Sky)
The car was originally Springtime Yellow with black top and black interior. It came with a 289 V8 and 3 speed manual trans. The car didn't come with many options ofther than the main one, the powered convertible top. It was originally purchased by my Dad in 1970 for $600. Both my parents drove the car for a few years and then it was garaged and put away. My parents offered the car to both of my older sisters when they turned 16 but, lucky for me they didn't want it and chose a VW Rabbit and a Mecury Cougar instead. Go figure that one? By default it was given to me when I turned 16 and the story begun.

The car was chosen for Budniks Cool Ride of the Month for Feb 08.

The only options the car came with was the power convertible top option and V8 motor.
All of the body panels are origianl metal except for the hood. The hood is a Fiberglass Shelby style hood. The car also has molded fiberglass scoops on the side and all lettering and moldings have been shaved. The lower rear quarter panel lines were smoothed out a bit and all of the fenders have been rolled.
The interior has been re-done and customized to keep some of the original look but give a little more comfort. The front seats are modified seats out of a GM car and covered in leather. Door panels are custom, dash has been recovered in leather. The gauges are JME white face gauges with the aluminum dash insert. I also have added the Shelby style console and recovered it in leather. Since the car is a Vert I had to add a roll cage to help keep the car safe. I have a 6point cage with detachable rear cross bar and detachable side bars. All parts of the roll bar are padded and covered in leather.
The car should run 10.0's with a small shot. It currently runs low to mid 11's on the motor in street trim just as you see it.
The car has a full Global West suspension. The steering is a Flamming River Rack & Pinion kit. To help stop it, the car has 4 wheel power disc brakes by Wilwood. I have also added custom subframe connectors to stiffen the car up and Slide-A-Links to help get the power to the pavement.
The motor is a 408 stroker motor. We used a Ford Motorsports 4 bolt main block, Pro Topline aluminum heads, hyd roller cam etc... The motor is balanced and blueprinted. Just added a Nitrous Works Shark Injection system (Fogger kit) on the motor. All of this bolts to a modified C4 auto and a GearVendor overdrive unit. The rearend is a Detroit Locker 9" with 35 spline axles.
Alpine 9887 detachable face HD Radio head unit with remote. JBL speaker system. Amp and sub to be added but are currently not installed.
