This is Onyx, my Weekend Warrior!
The powerplant is a 364 Cubic Inch Corvette LS2 Small Block V8.
I went with everything but the NAV system. I also chose AWD over the 2WD option. The 2WD version of this truck would be a little quicker, but I would like to rally race this down the road, so I beefed up the suspension in hopes that it will take the corners better (that is corner as well as a 4800 pound battle pig will corner).
Current Modifications:
- I replaced the lame ass gold bowtie in the grille with a billet aluminum front "SS" bowtie which I had powder coated black to match the truck.
- I removed the "TrailBlazer" badging on the tailgate as well as the Gold Bowtie badge from the rear.
- I removed the factory ivory inlays on the SS badges and replaced them with custom black inlays.
- I have a custom license plate which reads "SUVETTE" which I thought was a nice play on words under the circumstances.
- RedLine Tuning QuickLift Hood Kit. This is a must if you plan to be under the hood a lot.
Pending Modifications:
- I am looking for a clean black aluminum license plate frame. Nothing fit right because the plate sits too low within the license plate area on all TrailBlazers.
- I would also like to find a nice set of replacement rear taillights. I want something a little smoother than what I have, but I want it to be as black as I can get it and I do not want it to look too "ricer", which a lot of the taillights I have found do.
- I want either a stubby billet antenna or maybe I will just remove the factory one completely. I need to ditch the radio controlled car curb appeal.
Tinted front 2 windows 20% (to match the rear factory windows.
I also installed some some dirt and gum wrappers to give this truck that "Lived In" look.
Next for the interior will be a pillar pod gauge cluster, but I am not sure what the timeframe on this will be just yet.
Only thing so far is a Heat Soak Reduction Kit from Vector Motorsports.
Right now I am heavily weighing my options between a number of bolt on performance options and maybe an upgraded cam, lifters, etc... or the option to just throw down fat cash for a supercharger possibly this coming summer. It is a rough debate when you are thinking about voiding the factory warranty on a truck with 3,700 miles on her.
* I have done some heavy research and I believe that I will be purchasing a remote turbo system from STS. They finalized the build on their kit for the TBSS. I am looking to purchase a house as well, so this is just an issue of finances and what I will have available after the house situation gets handled.
After everything that I have read though the STS turbo sounds awesome. I like this option quite a bit more than a supercharger because of the wider range of available power. After the Turbo I will see where I am at for power and then I might consider ported heads and cam. From what a read about the STS setup I may not need them though.
One thing that I have always wanted to put on this rig are headers and a custom exhaust system.
I installed a set of KBee adjustable Coilovers in the front to give the truck a tighter handling suspension and also drop the front end between 1 1/2 - 2". I lowered the rear end by adjusting the existing factory airbag system.
Next on the list I have a Hotchkis rear swaybar which my lazy ass has yet to install. Basically it would take about 30-40 minutes to install but quite honestly I have just been too damn lazy to do throw in on in this hot summer sun. Once it is on it should help to further tighten things up in the turns.

Factory Bose Stereo!!! Since this is not my daily driver so I really have no reason to do stereo upgrades of any kind.
