Owned this puppy since 1997, and it's been a bunch of updates & mods since then. Starting with a clean and un-cut 1970 307 powered slug that "ripped off" 17.0's in quarter mile. 3 SBC engines have found a home under the flat steel hood, with the latest, a solid roller pump gas 383, taking up residence late 2008.
A big project started in December 2006 is finally done in January 2009. Now to enjoy the track and the street! =)
307 / 200 HP engine with powerglide trans, A/C, AM/FM radio, Exterior trim with bright window trim, vinyl top, bench seat interior.
Removed vinyl top
Added SS trim (blacked-out grille trim, hood louvers and trim bezels, finned tail lamp panel and badging), exterior bright moldings on rockers and behind rear tires, 67 Camaro-style 350 and V-flag emblems on fenders
Centerline billet wheels (15 x 6 front, 15 x 8 back) with 275/60/15 M/T ET Street Radials or 28 x 10.5 M/T Et Drag Slicks out back.
Restored stock interior using P.U.I. components. Changed factory bench for factory bucket seats, stock dash cluster yanked for Covan's dash with Auto Meter gauges, Rebco switches and Alpine CD head unit. Transmission shifts done via B & M Pro-Ratchet shifter. Removed all A/C components and painted dash & cowl area before adding new vinyl-wrap dash pad.
Safety stuff: 5 point roll bar done in 2003, upgraded to full cage with dual swing out bars in April 2007 by Dan Neumann Race Cars (with driver and passenger swing-out), RJS 5-point harness on both seats, RJS mesh window net. Cage is NHRA certified to 8.50 e.t.s.
