About this Current Vehicle:

Purchased for my wife in 1991 as a daily driver. Had stock 267 v8(boat anchor) with stuck distributor advance and 2.29ratio gears. Got about 10mpg and 0-60 in about 2 hours pedal to the floor. Tried rebuilding 267 with .030 overbore, new cam, roller tip rockers, performer intake and 500cfm carb, and headers but 267(272) still ran like $hit even after 2000stall converter and 3.42 gears. Changed to 355v8 and major body & chassis mods to accomodate decent rubber for increased power output around 425-450HP.

Factory Options:

tilt wheel, 267v8, th350, 50/50 bench seat,UGLY red interior, rally rims,Landau coupe.
Most factory options no-longer exist (built for power and purpose, not a restoration!).

Exterior Modifications:

US Body fiberglass 3" cowl induction hood, shaved emblems and crome drip rails, custom made rear 2" trunklid spoiler, front fender seams are molded to front cowl, rear quarters modified-streached outward 3" to upgrade to 15" tires and 8.5"GM rear axle with posi. PPG Delstar Medium Grey Metallic with bottom 1/3 painted Midnight Black Metallic and hood/trunk painted with Midnight Black Metallic RS/SS Camaro stripes. Removed any excess weight parts and brackets(dropped weight by over 450#).

Interior Modifications:

Auto meter 3.5" 160mph speedo and 8000rpm tach(replaced foctory clock), Hurst Pro-matic shifter, front bench seat modified to provide clearance for shifter, Pioneer sterio, new 6" speekers molded to doors. Auto Meter Gauge console on Drivers a-pillar(air/fuel ratio and engine temp). Side windows 20%tint, rear side windows black limo tint. Floor pans custom made for exhaust clearance under car.

Performance:

1970 355ci 4-bolt main v8, 6"rods, forged crank, H.E. FTpistons 10.25:1CR, Diamond windage tray w/Moroso oil pan, Summit 272 hyd flat tappet cam, 168tooth flywheel, 7.25"fluidampr balancer, original '69 GM Z-28 aluminum intake, Carter AFB 625cfm carb, 68cc Trickflow Twisted Wedge G-2 13degree canted-valve ported aluminum heads(195ccintake 2.02/1.6) with Comp Cams 1.52 Pro-Magnum full-roller rockers, Aluminum radiator and water pump with permacool electric fans, 1-5/8" headers and 2.5" dual exhaust w/turbo mufflers. Current top speed >180mph @5500rpm.

Suspension/Chassis:

New stock front springs shortened 1.5", 15x6" front rims with 205-60-15 BFG tires, rear variable rate coil springs, Nirto-gas shocks, adjustable upper rear control arms w/custom brackets(re-located for GM8.5"axle and improved geometry), boxed lower control arms, rear 15X7" Weld Pro-star rims with Cooper 235-70-15 tires. Custom floorpans to allow room for true-dual turbo exhaust. Replaced 9" rear drum brakes with 11" drums.

Drivetrain:

TH350 with B&M shift kit and "special" valve body mod's, A-1 Automatic 2100 stall torque converter, GM 8.5" corporate axle from 76monte carlo with 2.73gears and Powertrax locking differential (replaced wimpy stock 7.5" w/3.42 open diff), Custom length 3" steel driveshaft (shorter due to replacement axle) w/HD U-joints.

Electronics:

MSD 6-A multi-spark ignition with Proform HEI and Accel 8.8" wires and Supercoil. Upgraded to 78amp late-model alternator. Perma-cool Elecrtic fans, Auto-meter Pro-comp guages, Air-fuel ratio monitor, Pioneer autio 4-channel sterio/amplifier w/casset. Sorry kids, NO X-BOX!

To-Do List:

3.08 or 3.23 rear gears, 2500-2800 stall converter, 17" Billet Specialties rims with propperly speed rated tires(w-z rated) to match performance, Multi-port fuel injection, Crane Hydraulic-roller cam upgrade, and replace interior- custom made door panels and head liner.
