I'm starting with pulling out the built 350 we originally installed in the car. I'd like to have the engine and trans ready to be pulled by saturday, or sunday at the very latest. After that I'll clean out the engine bay and start test fitting for the new smaller engine and electronic trans.
We're still doing the 454 BBC swap, but we'll get a new car when we're ready for it. You can pick up elco's with nice straight bodies and no engines for around $1000 here..so it shouldn't be an issue.

1 word, SLEEPER. A friend of mine has a 78 El Camino with a 400 CI SBC, makes about 450-500 hp, been 130 in it at half throttle lol.
One of my neighbors is rebuilding an El Camino SS. Saw him droping a new motor as i drove by. It's going tobe nasty
looks like you got a primo car to build on. my bud owns with with a 400 sbc that runs 11.30s on motor!
El camino for the "W". No ross to screw me on that comment.
I think the first car I admired was an El Camino. Do the swap with either the LS1 or LT1, no matter what it's gonna be HAWT.
Yup, I've seen the Aussie version. I think I remember hearing of a few you could get LS2's with...me want one.
Have you seen the over sea's version i think they call it the UTE LS1 powered
