I bought this car from a friend of mine in 1997. He was in the process of getting divorced and didn't want to lose this car so he signed it over to me for safe keeping. When his divorce was final he needed money to pay the ex and since I already owned the car, we agreed on a price and I bought it. It was never a car I dreamed about owning but it sort of found me and I couldn't help but fix it up.
When I finally got it on the road, I took it to a few of the larger car shows. I guess my hard work paid off because it was on the cover and featured in the Sep/Oct '03 Chevelle World. Shortly after that it was featured in the Mar '04 issue of Popular Hot Rodding. The following year it was on the cover and featured in the Jan '05 issue of Chevy High Performance. It also appeared in a few other issues as part of larger articles.
It started life with a 6 cylinder, a column shift 3 speed, A/C, manual drum brakes, and manual steering.
All side trim and emblems removed, drip rails shaved, smoothed bumpers, rolled rear outer fender lips, 'glass cowl hood.
Custom dash with Dakota Digital gauges, Arizen Racing seats, Lokar pedals, Lecarra steering wheel, Pioneer & MTX sound system.
