About this Previous Vehicle:

Vintage IMSA/SCCA Widebody. 468ci / 654rwhp(1977@746hp) / 218mph / 9.58@148.

Eligable: SCCA ASR, NASA Super Unlimited, SVRA Group 10, HSRA Endurance H4 and H11. HSRA feature races will be IMSA GTO in 2007.

Raced @ Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, MidOhio, Road America, Mosport, MidAmerica, Summit Point, Donneybrook, Pocono, Lime Rock, Road Atlanta, Nelsons Ledges, & Beaver Run.

Never titled, 1970 built as IMSA/SCCA racer. Raced 1971-1972 standard body w/ fender flares. 1973-1974 rebuilt as Widebody, wrecked 1977 IMSA MidOhio, rebuilt as fastback Widebody, raced lightly 1978-1984 & retired, warehoused 1984-2001, restored 2001-2006, 2006 fully race prepped as race/street/show car.

Factory Options:

The only parts actually Corvette- 1970 lightened/acid dipped frame, front A-arms and spindels, 1970 windshield, exterior door handles, rear window trim molding, 1970 LS6 block.

Exterior Modifications:

IMSA WIDEBODY by American Custom Industries.
Front clip, circa 1973.
Rear clip w/ removeable Targa top, and doors, circa 1977.
Entire body removable w/ Dzus Quarter turn fastners.
Full alloy tubular chassis 1977, built around original lightened 1970 frame.
Plexiglass rear window.

Interior Modifications:

Original to pre-1977.
Custom aluminum interior,
Corbeau racing seat and window nets,
Simpson 5 point harness,
Halon fire supression system.

Performance:

Original 1970 LS6 454 block @ 468ci, 654rwhp, Hilborn-Kinsler fuel injection w/ Dial-A-Jet, Hilborn mechanical fuel pump w/ Holley electric tank pump, Vertex magneto, Winters aluminum big valve heads, Champion C57HCX plugs, Moroso solid core wires, Wiseco pistons @ 11.5:1, Moldex crank, aluminum water pump, Aviaid 4 stage dry sump w/ McClaren pan, Greenwood-Stahl headers w/ 4" open side pipes, aluminum racing rad. w/ dual electric spals, Aeroquip hoses and fittings, 32 gal. Firestone fuel cell, Kaiser dry brake, original dump fuel tanks.
Engine is lowered 4", set back 12", set to the right 4". Internally balanced.
Wieght dry #2564.

Suspension/Chassis:

Steeroids power rack w/ KRC aluminum racing pump, front Koni (1977)coil overs, rear Carrera(1977) coil overs, double adjustable A arm modified Greenwood suspension(1977), Frankland Quick Change w/ 14 gear changes(1977), custom splined free floating half shafts.
Wilwood 6 piston front/4 piston rear. Dual Wilwood Racing Master cyl. w/ attenuator.

Drivetrain:

M-21 aluminum short throw, Center Force dual friction racing clutch, Frankland Quick Change w/ 14 gear changes.
Sterling magnesium 15" Racing Wheels, front 12" wide / rear 18" wide.
Goodyear Racing Slicks, cut with Historic pattern by Sasco.
Front 25x11-15 r475 / Rear 27x14-15 r430

Electronics:

AIM Motosports, MXL Digital Data Logger, electronic race data aquisition / GPS / telemetry, engine monitoring system.


IMSA WIDEBODY # 82 is a true "survivor" virtually all original to pre 1978.
Every part or system was sent to the original manufacturer for total rebuild, or if replaced the original parts labeled, boxed, and retained. Including hoses, clutch, spark plugs, 2 sets of original tires, 2 sets of extra wheels, original dump fuel tanks, etc. etc. etc.
