About this Current Vehicle:

1958 Corvette Roadster. Bought it to be my weekend bracket car. Its been sitting for a couple years so I'm gonna check some stuff out, get some new tires, and a few other misc items then go racing!

Factory Options:

N/A

Exterior Modifications:

N/A

Interior Modifications:

N/A

Performance:

522 Big Block Chevy, Tunnel ram, two 980cfm carburetors, Dart 320 heads, T&D shaft mount rockers
4/4/09: First time out with the car. We made some carb changes, a 4 link change, shock changes, and a few other minor stuff and went a 5.54@122 in 4000-4500' DA. 1.19 60' best. The track was marginal at best and with a few other fine adjustments it should be a solid 5.4 car which completely surprises me. I didn't expect anything quicker than 5.6's.
4/18/09: Took the car out for the second time and had an excellent race day. I entered into a Quick 12 bracket race and also Electronics. Ended up third in electronics and split the money in the Quick 12. Right before the final in Quick, a cold front blew in and covered the track in dirt. I ended up running a 5.47@123 in the 1/8th and a 8.72@153 in the quarter. There is still more left in the carburetor tune-up but we didn't want to mess with it after eliminations started.
11/17/09- I've had the vette out of commission for a while now. The engine has been apart for a freshen/tune up. The pistons that were in it ended up being worn smooth out. Some skirts were collapsed as much as .005". I've got the block bored out to 4.600", will get some new pistons and get the shortblock back together. The heads were ported back in the mid 90's and have a lot of gain to be had. I'll probably keep the same 2.300/1.88 valves since its my bracket car but the heads should gain 20-35cfm over what they were. I'm also changing the tunnel ram/carburetors, camshaft, and switching over to a dry sump oiling system. I'm expecting it to make over 1000hp when its back together.

Suspension/Chassis:

4 Link, Strange strut front end, Koni double adjustable rear shocks

Drivetrain:

Powerglide, Hughes converter, Dana 60 rear end

Electronics:

Dedenbear delay box.

To-Do List:

swap 4.56's for some 4.88's.
