I have been drag racing since I turned 16 but early in my racing years I had never owned anything that I would consider fast. One day I decided to take my 1995 pontiac firebird 3.4L V6 to the track. I was hoping to run low 16's in the 1/4 mile, but by the end of the day all I could muster was a blazing 17.2 sec 1/4 mile. I vowed from that day that I would not spend another dime on that car trying to make it look nice or go fast. Within a month the car was sold and I bagan my search for a car with more potential to go fast. I decided that I wanted a 4th gereation Camaro with a V8. I didn't know whether I wanted to save some money and buy an LT1 and use the money I saved on modifying it, or spend a few extra bucks and get an LS1 equipped camaro. My decision was made very quickly one night when I went out with a few of my car buddies. One friend of mine had a 1995 Camaro Z28 with inake, full exhaust, and gears. Another friend of mine had just purchased a brand new 2000 Poitiac TransAm. They decided tto race their cars to see if the LS1 could hang. After the race was over the LS1 equipped TransAm completly destroyed the LT1 Camaro. I knew right then and there that I should get an LS1. So about 4 years ago at the age of 20 I purchased a completly stock 2000 Camaro Z28, and I have been modifying and racing it ever since.
