About this Current Vehicle:

After previously owning a heads/cam 99 Z28 that I sold for a ZO6, I couldn't shake the bug of drag racing. One outing to the track with the corvette was enough to make me realize I'm not the best 6 speed driver, and I missed the consistency/feel of the automatic at the track.
So I sold the vette, bought the fiance a car and then started hunting for a modded f-body to go race. I found this car out of a guy in Florida on ls1tech. It had everything I wanted to start with - its a hardtop car, had a forged bottom end 347, a set of TEA ported 853 heads on it, TSP Magic Stick 3 cam, Fast 90 intake, TCI 3500 converter, built tranny, corbeau seats, etc.
After a season of racing, extremely consistent 12.0s on MT drag radials (best of 11.86@115.2) I wanted more. 12.0s was fun, but it got old. I'd change up this, add that and still ran within a tenth or 2 everytime out. I decided to take the plunge.
Found an awesome deal on a very limited production Hi-Flo F-body turbo kit with a 76mm Precision Turbo, FMIC, etc. The seller even included the cam that he ran in his car. So I started parting out the parts on my car. Sold the ported heads, fast, etc in favor of more boost-friendly pieces (stock 317 heads to lower the compression some, ls6 intake, etc). Selling the old parts were going to help fund the new fuel system...or so I thought. In the middle of taking the motor apart for the heads/cam swap, I decided to investigate an oil pressure problem (was a little low and wouldn't go over 45 psi on the gauge). Thats when disaster struck, all of the bearings were fried. The motor only had about 12K miles on it too! I'm thinking the culprit was when the motor was put together, ARP studs were used throughout, and the main caps weren't align honed with the studs torqued (causing the crank to waller around in the mains wearing them out in a hurry!). As much as it sucked at the time, it's good it happened..now I know exactly whats in the motor and that its been done right. So that brings us to where I'm at now, in the middle of getting the motor back in and the Hi-Flo turbo kit installed on the car!

Once it's tuned I'll clean up under the hood, get a boost controller put on it before it goes in for a full throttle dyno tune.

Take the time to get A/C configured on the car (should be fun).

Once I make some passes at the track this season, hopefully get a better transmission and rearend to hold higher boost. Shooting for 550 rwhp on 7-8 lbs and 650 on higher boost. We shall see!!
