About this Current Vehicle:

The car is currently in the middle of restoration. Originally sold in one of the Carolinas, then owned in Nevada, I purchased it via internet in California in 2001. I had the car on the road 2 summers after purchasing it, one summer I could not keep the thing running for the life of me, after $300 in towing, and many machanics and hours and $$$ put in to it, it ended up being the fuel injectors.... none the less the paint had taken a beating from all the sun it got from it's previous owner, I thought it to be interesting to get it refinished....

Bumps in the road

OK, this project has lasted a while. It's been due mostly due to lack of spare time and spare $$, but there are a few other things that still have this car in multiple pieces...

(2) major parts of this project I decided not to do: Paint and long block build. Mostly due to lack of experiance, resources, and space to do them. I have to tell you, the painter took his time getting the car back to me, I was w/o the car for a year. not because he was extremely detailed, but more because it was his backburner work. The motor took another year to get, again, not because there was a lot involved, but because it had to be worked around race season. I suppose I could have been more firm on getting these project back quicker, but I didn't want to give an extra reason for shortcuts to be taken.

Recently, my motovation killer was after I got the motor in the car, I tried to run the exhasut. What I was told was a stock oil pan, was actually a 5qt. pan. This extra 1 qt. caused all sorts of problems. Not only would the exhaust crossover pipe not fit below the motor, but it was just big enough, that I had to pull the motor out again just to take the pan out. Just recently got the motor back in with the STOCK pan, back to buisness!

Hey Dave! Yeah the car has been out since Easter this year. Been driving it daily. The turbo's are fine. Been having fun as I come across unsuspecting others on the road. Had fun with a Cobra last month and just this morning a WRX. Wink Good times!

The 4th gen dashswap is a little hard to put in and I still don't have it 100% finished. Its easy to take it out once you've made the modifications to put it in. Good luck on your restore.

I'm staying out of trouble so far. This weekend should get a little crazy though. We'll see you and Jen on Saturday, right?
