I found this car on the internet after searching and searching for an LS1. By that time i had become pretty impatient and just wanted something quick.. But, I knew better, and didn't want to sacrifice the end result just to have something asap. So after looking for a little longer, I came across this SS. I loved everything about it as soon as i saw it, and it was one of those things where I knew I couldn't have it. So, I just blew it off, and put it in my list of cars I wish i could have.
About a week or two later I decided what the hell, and called up the owner. I asked him if he would be interested in a trade for cash and a car. To be more specific, my current car at the time, the BPM V6 (listed in previous vehicles). He asked for some details on the car which I provided, and to my surprise he said it had been the best offer he had gotten in the month or so it had been posted for sale. Within an hour I had e-mailed him pictures of the V6 and had him look over it, told him all the details and he said he would discuss it with his wife.
Later that week I received an email and the owner had told me his wife wanted him to go through with it, and asked if I could throw in some more cash to sway him on the decision. He also let me know the car had the nitrous system installed, which before this I had no clue.. So we settled on an extra 500, and sometime (I believe) the next week we went for a visit in Louisiana where the car was located. After looking over both cars we agreed on the trade and filled out all the paper work to get the title from the bank, transfer the warranty etc.. Considering we did not have an official title on the car yet we had to work around some things, and finally about an hour and a half later signed a makeshift "contract" stating we would not drive the car until we exchanged titles, but we would exchange cars that day.
So there it was, sitting in my garage for nearly a month, barely being driven at all just to keep it fresh, when finally I received a call to let us know the titles were ready to be exchanged. We headed back over to Louisiana and signed the rest of everything over, and the deal was finally done.
