About this Current Vehicle:

I am an Infantry Soldier in the U.S. Army and I am now currently deployed to Afghanistan. This is my second deployment here. I bought this beautiful 2000 Camaro SS on my leave (R and R) back to the states. I was very VERY lucky and fortunate to have seen this car when I did as I had bought it on my last day of leave before I had to come back to Afghanistan. I purchased the SS from a widow of a man that had it built by the one and only famous Finish Line Performance in Naperville, IL.

So here's the story if you are interested in reading it.

I had went to the shop on my last day of leave to talk about turning my 1999 Firebird Formula into a Street / Strip MONSTER that would be able to run single digits in the 1/4 mile. So I had two setups in mind. #1) A Twin-Turbo 454 Cu. In. LSX to make over 1000 RWHP OR #2) A more streetable and much less expensive ProCharged 408 Cu. In. LS2 to make 800 + RWHP. As I was talking to my friend of mine that is one of the Managers at FLP into choosing the 408 setup he had mentioned that they had a fully built Camaro SS capable of 9 second 1/4 mile times just sitting in the shop waiting for a buyer. The car was brought to FLP in the Fall / Winter of 2008, they built it for the man, however he was never able to take delivery of the finished project because of his passing, so it just sat at the shop waiting for a new owner. The shop kept and stored the car there as a favor to the widow and told her that they would help her sell it by telling customers about it. My friend at the shop asked if I'd like to take a look at her, so I said " Sure, why not. I'll take a look. " So he brought me into the shop area where it was, took the car cover off of it, and WOW!!! My jaw dropped and I was in love with her at first sight. I asked him, " How much is the widow selling it for? " He told me her price and I told him " SOLD, I want to buy this car right now. " As soon as I saw it and found out the price of this awesome machine standing before me, I had to buy it right then and there as this was my one and only chance to get what I wanted for half the price. It has everything I would have had done to my Formula but I would only be paying half as much. So I figured that I would be saving myself TONS of money on the build, let alone a new car! So he said " You do?! Are you serious?! " And I told him " Yes, I am very serious. I have the money and I need to buy this car right now. " So he gave me her name and phone number. I called her, told her that I wanted to buy it from her, I went to my bank, got the money, we met up at FLP, we typed up and signed a bill of sale, I gave her the money, she signed over the title to me, and it was a done deal! I was now a proud new owner of a 9 second Camaro SS! It worked out very well in the end and everyone was happy. Now trust me when I say this " I am a Firebird man! I LOVE Firebirds " But damn it I could NOT pass up a deal of a life time like that ever! Anyways I can still have fun with my first baby, my Formula and drive her around on the weekdays, and come the weekends, take the new girl out for fun on the streets and to the track and IT'S ON!!! Oh and one more thing. Besides all that, since the car was all fully built and everything on it is BRAND NEW and was never received by the previous owner, it only has 20 MILES on it!!! Now isn't that kick ass or what?!?!

The motor was featured in the July 09 Issue of GM High-Tech Performance. Now please be patient with me as I do not know everything there is to know about the car as much as I'd like to know because of such a spontaneous purchase on the very short amount of time that I had left to buy her. I only know some of the basics of the car as I did not get to be with it for very long at all. The very next day after I had bought her, I had to get back on a plane to come back to Hell on Earth A.K.A. Afghanistan. But as soon as I get home from my deployment I will study her thoroughly in and out and give you guys the full details on her specs and what she's built with. Untill then, she is stored away, covered up, and will be waiting for my return home to go out and have fun with her. : )
