Bought this online while I was in Iraq, back in April 2006. Looking back, that was a huge gamble, but it worked out ok in the end. When I got the car it was doing the one wheel peel. Further inspection showed that the rear end that was in the car was an open, 3.08 geared, junk yard special. IT was getting some kick ass fuel milage (About 28 MPG, not real sure since the speedo was off a tad, but thats close). I was banging my head because I was wondering why the car would only run 14.60, BLAZING the rear "tire". So this is why I ended up with the monsterous Moser 12 Bolt, witch in turn turned the car into a sort of unwieldy beast, due to the excessive weight. Some proper shocks/springs and tubular suspension conponents should correct this. Other then all that, the car is from Texas, and it was $500 to ship to Ohio.

Ordered UMI adjustable lower a-arms and nonadjustable upper a-arms. For what I do I highly doubt I'll ever have a need to mess with the adjustment. I'm pumped, because I hope this corrects some of my wandering issues. When I installed the front koni struts I noticed the lower a arm bushings have taken a beating. The brake hoses were also pretty scary. I ordered stainless brake lines to fix that.
I really wanna do some H.P. mods to this car soon but I wanna get this suspension stuff worked out first.

So I installed the Konis and Sam Strano's springs on friday. The rears went really smooth. My factory shock bushings were wasted. Luckly the Konis came with new ones. Only took about an hour to do the rears with help from a friends. The fronts took considerably longer. The strut mounts were way to degraded to reuse, in fact one was destroyed during disassembly of the factory strut assembly. Ordered a new set of strut mounts from car quest. They were $42 each. A spring compressor was not needed to install Strano's springs on the Koni struts. You will have to reuse the factory spring insulator. This is the piece that is between the spring and the spring perch on the strut. During install of the new strut assembly my friend noticed that my front control arm bushings are fairly worn. I will either have to replace them with Polyurethene replacements or possibly order a tubular set with rod ends in time. The car handles alot better but it is a little bouncier then I expected. I think stiffening the rear shocks might correct this.

I got some UMI adjustable control arms and a UMI adjustable panhard rod a few weeks ago to install with my Strano springs and Koni shocks. Well, I have't had much time to install everything, but I got a chance to do the Panhard and Control arms. Install was a snap, only taking about an hour. UMI sent the stuff already set to factory length, so I didnt have any adjusting to do, although I double checked their measurements. When doing control arms I strongly advise the use of the supplied Energy Suspension grease. By applying this to the out side of the bushing, where the bushing make contact with the metal, it will eliminate any sqweeking coming from the control arms. Control Arms and Panhard rod should be one of the first mods done on these cars for those of us who like the turn the wrenches. It made a hell of a difference in both straight line stability and cornering. Made the car feel alot more solid. I went with the Polyurethene/Rod End combination. There is a slight increase in road noise but it is far worth the performance gains over stock.

Nice car!!!
Solid foundation you have going. Rear and suspension seem done! Stripes look great on there too.
You have some solid plans for the car, coming along very nicely so far. Thanks for the comments!
Lucky for me... the headlights and everyhting come with it. just haven't been put on yet since it needs painted. if you look at the March car in the LS1tech calendar, that is what it is going to look like after paint and I put my wheels on it
a turbo set up is def a good choice, do twins if you do decide to go turbo. IF it works out let me know on pricing i may be intrested also,
Nice ride buddy & thanks for your comment
Thanks you have a nice ride also. Well, I'm building a 383 stroker and plan on putting that baby in during the summer. I also want to swap that front bumper with the split bumper. I just ordered the front spoiler and plan on putting it on during the week
Nice car man. I know what you mean about the sportlines. I'll be returning to stock shortly. Houston roads are brutal!
