Pipeline - Dick Dale
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT & RATE ALL THE CARS IN MY GARAGE.
I've owned this vehicle since 1980. I did a major resto to it in 1990- And now another one, 19 years later.
It has all the proper date coded glass, snap ring battery cables, date coded plug wires, code stamped hoses, tower clamps, heat spring choke, color coded hideaway hoses, in otherwords it's about as close to dealer stock as I could get it. The only change I've made is the car was originally Butternut yellow but I couldn't live with it and it was painted another 1968 color- Matador red. NO BULL!
It was my only car (Except for having a Vette for a short stint) until I got married in 1995. In Florida in 2001 an 80 year old guy ran a red light and clipped the front end. The original hood was not damaged, but the fender, bumper, grille, hideaways, upper & lower valences were damaged.
The car is currently undergoing another restoration. Picture will be added as it progresses.
11/12/07 Checked on her last week, slow and steady progress. Hope to have her back next fall.
5/12/08 the guy doing the resto has fallen ill and retired. I'm going to pick her up next week in 1000 pieces
and move her to another shop.
Found a great shop. Hoping to have her finished for The Gathering 2010. All it takes is $. and more $ Pictures soon.

Picked up the subframe today. Had it sand blasted and powder coated. Turned out nice- looks stock semi-gloss.

Got a note from the shop, they just finished 40 hours of work on her.
Rally Sport- Hide away headlights, Console gauge package, upper and lower door chrome, Solid taillights with lower back up lights.
Super Sport- 295hp 350, Late production hood with stack louvers, Factory Tachometer. 4 speed, center console. Standard interior, bucket seats with headrests.
Convertible, AC, PB, Front discs. AM/FM radio.

For this restoration, I was thinking of putting in a deluxe interior with black and white houndstooth.
Fuel lines, Brake lines and Stock exhaust configuration, made of Stainless steel.
