Brandy (You're a fine girl)
Brandy is a 69 RS Camaro who was stripped down beyond her skivvies and completely restored in 1991 by a gentleman named Bob Brand and his son Josh in their garage. After her restoration, she had photo shoots with Car Craft and Super Chevy, but at the time she didn't make either magazine (Hopefully this will change soon as she takes on a new personality). In 2001 became the fourth owner of this beauty since her restoration. At the time, she appeared to be somewhat neglected with little or no upkeep, but at least she wasn't abused. Over the past several years and especially over the past year, she has been receiving my divided attention.
Now that summer is over I'm beginning to setup for my winter "upgrades". This season I plan on going fuel injection which will involve replacing everything from the gas cap to the intake manifold. I've ordered a stainless steel tank to hold and deliver the fuel from Ricks Hot Rod shop (which I will polish to a mirror finish) and an Accel DFI Gen 7 injection system which just debuted at SEMA. Another major pro-touring upgrade coming this winter will be the change-over to a TREMEC TKO 5-speed transmission (was going to do a T56 6-speed until I discovered it was going to cost nearly double for one lousy gear). For beauty upgrades I'm in the process of replacing all the body bolts with polished stainless steel button-head bolts which are sure to give me that extra edge (and add a couple horsepower). I've also accumulated all the new trick billet parts that have hit the Pro-Touring scene since last winter (photos in my 2nd photo album). Looks like I may have to wait til next year to do some interior stuff.
Obviously I don't know when to say "when", since she is down at the moment I decided to send a few things out to be chromed and found some more nuts and bolts to convert to SS. Hopefully I'll have everything put back together in the next month or so.
Don't forget to leave a rating on your way out. I know she isn't perfect, but I wouldn't trade her for the world.

Engine went back in today, maybe not the last time though. I still have to poke a hole in the firewall for the fuel injection system. Still waiting on my crossmember from Prodigy. This is really ridiculous.

Just received my Meziere water pump and it is gorgeous! Tried to bolt up the alternator and PS pump but both brackets need a little bit of machining to get things to work. Nothing is ever easy on a project such as Brandy.

Installed and pre-wired the new gas tank, I still need to wire up the relay switch, but that probably won't happen until i rewire the charging system. Also installed the new 1350 pinion yoke.

With a ride like this, who needs a "system"? I'd much rather listen to the music coming from under the hood. However, when I get the Covan instrument panel I will probably put a system in since I won't have to cut up the original dash. This car is louder than my Harley at highway speeds and listening to the current radio is nearly impossible unless you know the song that's playing :)
- Install stainless steel gas tank and wire fuel pump
- Install new stainless steel body bolts
- Install the Accel DFI system
- Run new fuel lines
- Put engine back in with new TKO600 5 speed trans
- Install all the new billet parts
- Upgrade the charging system and wiring w/ 140amp alternator and a Mad Electrical upgrade kit
- Get hood repaired
- Install a DSE dash insert with new guages and new stereo
